Hello! I'm not sure how to start this out, but I was inspired by pirate tiktok! I just wanted to write a pirate story. I found this prompt online, and I'm going to challenge myself to stick to it as best I can.

TW: Abuse, sex worker (Kinda not really)/sex slaves (doesn't go into much detail about the actual "work"), brief threatening of a major character's life, family members being sold. Let me know if I missed any.

"Worthless boy, you've lost five clients this week!" He slaps me as hard as he can. It hurts, and I clamp my jaw shut, not touching the spot. As He slaps me again, I shrink back a small bit, but I can't let him win. "You do not deny them anything. As long as they've paid, they have their way with you. Understand?"

I nod, wanting to defend myself and my dignity. But I already know it's useless. He's ignored me once, he'll do it again.

As soon as I nod he shoves me out of the door. "You sleep outside." As I try to move to grab anything to put over my boxers, he slams the door shut. I shiver, the wind trailing up my spine.

"Quite unfortunate."

I jump and turn to see a well dressed man standing behind me.

"Do you enjoy working as a sex slave?"

I turn away, refusing to answer, knowing He'd be mad no matter what I do.

The strange man walks closer, gently brushing my arm. "I could give you a better life, one full of adventure."

I feel my eyes widen as recognition floods my eyes. This is the pirate captain from the wanted posters all over town.

I pause for a moment, confusion evident on my face.

"What are you asking of me?"

"I'm asking if you want to join me." The strange man almost laughs at me. I don't know what to say or feel.

I stay silent. Something draws me to this man, although I'm not sure what.

As I contemplate my options, and what might happen if I decide to go with him, he cuts my thoughts short. "If you don't want to leave this sorry life of yours, I'll just go."

I grab his arm. I'm not sure why. I very quietly speak, "I'll go with you."

The man smiles. He grabs my hand and drags me off to a river nearby behind a shop. I know this river leads into the ocean, but I've never seen either.

As I slowly come out of my thoughts, I see a huge boat, probably the size of the building in front of it, if not bigger. I wonder how no-one's seen it yet.

"By the way, I'm John Laurens." As soon as he says this, he's out, running up to the ship like his life depends on it.

"I'm Alex-" I start shivering, while slowly approaching the ship, filled to the brim with nerves. The ship looks warm and inviting, everywhere else is cold, and dark.

I see lanterns on the ship, it's quite bright, and hear festive music coming from it. I wonder what these wanted pirates are actually like, instead of the vague description the posters provide. Conveniently leaving out their crimes.

I slowly start to walk toward the ship, I recognize most people on the ship from the posters as I scan the crowded place for John Laurens.

I don't see him anywhere. I start to panic. People around me are staring and wondering who I am. All I seem to be to them is an intruder with nothing but his underpants.

One guy comes up to me and points his sword directly at my neck. I freeze.

This man is easily twice my size, maybe more, has more muscles than I've ever seen, and tattoos everywhere. He's wearing little clothing, just covering the important parts and a slash on his chest. He towers over me while I just cower, slowly backing away.
