You'll Never See

From the outside, looking in
All you see is my grin

All you see is my warm smile
I wear it all the day, every mile

What you do not see is my perpetual loneliness-
The dark thoughts that threaten to spill
The things that cause my ill will

No, you wouldn't see them, for I hide them well
Those demons that, within me, dwell
Try to escape, they do!
They try to break through!

But still I smile, all the while-
They fight tooth and nail
Will they drag me to Hell?

Nevertheless, you'll never see because-
This smile I wear is fake
Every night and day I awake!
