"Mom, are we almost there?!" I say getting very impatient. "Emily
calm down!! The plane will land in five minutes! Uncle Zeke will
be there waiting." Mom replied. Going to Orlando, Florida for thesummer is so exciting! Not to mention that Aunt Kim makes the
best pancakes. "Hey!!" I shout as Rachel pulls out my earphones.
"The plane landed. It's time to go! Bye Mom and Dad! I will take
good care of Emy!!" She says. I grab my luggage and slowly make
my way towards the exit. My heart starts pounding like
something bad is going to happen. I ignore it and keep walking.
As I walked out of the gates, I found Uncle Zeke standing there.
I'll admit, I wasn't as excited as I thought I'd be. Something just
wasn't right. I was nervous and my heart wouldn't stop beating
out of my chest. I couldn't ignore it anymore. I broke into a sweat.
Uncle Zeke could tell something was wrong. "Emily! Is everything
okay?" he asked as I got closer, barely maintaining my balance.
He took my hand and at that moment, my heart beat returned to
normal and I was fine. "Yeah. I'm okay." I responded half way in shock.
The car ride home was quiet. Mom and Dad would be gone for a
couple of weeks exploring the rest of the state while Rachel and I
stayed with Zeke and Kim. As we pulled into the driveway, I was
convinced that this visit would be fun and that I had nothing to
worry about, but I knew I was lying to myself.
