Platform 9 ¾ was no different to how Luke had pictured it from Ben's and Jack's accounts. It was busy, with hundreds of students making their return to Hogwarts or heading that way.  Long black robes with house colours, students greeting their friends: many of them being in their respective house colours. He looked around again for his brothers whom had ditched him. Ben who was in his fifth year and taking O.W.L.S. Something Luke wasn't looking forward too. He wore blue on his robes indicating his ravenhouse status. To be frank, Luke thought, Ben really didn't have a worry. He had been perfecting spells as soon as their mum had granted permission in their house.  As long as she was their to supervise then they were free to practice what they learnt. Or in Luke case obverse.

Jack, whom was a fourth year hufflepuff had disappeared into the mass of his friends the moment he had got on the platform. It was no secret that Jack was popular, funny and general all rounder in comparison to Ben who was almost the same except with more brains. Luke wondered how he'd fit in. He was shy in comparison to his two outgoing brothers, however at eleven he had always been that third brother. "Alright sweety" his mother, Liz, asked, her hands clasping his shoulders now she had found him.

"Uh, yeah" Luke confirmed, shrinking a little back into her embrace. "Its okay to be nervous, but I don't mind what house you end up in, as long as you do your best to succeed, work hard and don't mention it to your dad but also have fun" she smiled at her youngest. Emotionally torn at how grown-up it felt to have her third child at school but how scary it was. It was also a great way to reminst her young years from herself to being in Ravenclaw. "Now where are your brothers, I would like to wish them a goodbye before they get wrapped up in the excitement" she added, her eyes scanning the crowd. "They ditched me the moment they had the chance" Luke disclosed.

"Sounds about right. You watch with in a week you'll be wishing for them to leave you alone". Luke looked up at his mum, a knowledgeable twinkle in her eyes. Luke hadn't felt it until now but he realised just how much he was going to miss her even if it was only for 14 weeks which now suddenly felt like a really long time. He wrapped his arms around her even if it would ruin any early street cred. Liz sensed exactly how her son was feeling hugging him back. "You'll forget about me about four weeks in. I'll be writing to you and I'll be lucky to receive a reply back. Now common let get you on with the first years so you can start making friends". Walking their way up the platform they were greeted by what Luke would have assumed as a giant.

Glad for his brothers tales, he quickly realised that it was none other than the half-giant half-human that was Rubus Hagrid. "'Ello". "Hi" Luke replied. "Well you look a little recognisable, don't suppose you have a couple of siblings here"  Hagrid asked kindly. "Yes" luke returned. "Ah, if I were you, I'd go to compartment three, got another in their with a sibling at Hogwarts, I think you'd get on fine". Luke nodded his head. His mother wrapped him in another hug, making sure he had his suitcase, "Don't forget to write, you can use our house owl". She released him from the hug and he boarded the train giving her one last wave goodbye before she went to find her two older sons. Luke counted the compartments stopping at three. Inside sat a skinny, tanned boy, a pair of black robes hung off his figure. Hand-me-downs, Luke thought instantly. His two were from Ben or Jack. He couldn't wait to be sorted into a house meaning he'd at least get a couple of new bits. The train horn started before it began to rumble out of the station. Luke took a few minutes to gain his balance.

Pushing the door open, Luke half-dragged, half-carried his suitcase in, causing the other boy to look up. "Hi" Luke proposed shyly, "Is it okay if I sit here". "Sure, I'm Calum" the brunette greeted.Shoving his suitcase in, he took the seat opposite, "I'm Luke". "Nice to meet you, Luke" Calum began before he was interrupted. "Ah there you are loser, made a friend already, see I told mum she didn't need to worry" Jack asserted, ruffling Lukes hair, "I'm Jack" he added. "Calum". Calum looked a little taken aback by the hurricane that was Luke's brother. "Yeah and you best be going. I'm fine" Luke whined, trying to smooth his hair in embarrassment
