Life is a whirlwind, I'll tell you that much. I never imagined that when I was sixteen and pregnant, I'd end up being here. Damien became a college football star, but after injuring his knee he couldn't play anymore. Good thing he was there to actually get a degree.
Now he works in marketing for the NFL. They tried to draft him from his college team right before his injury. They couldn't give him a spot on a team, so they gave him a job in their office just a few hours away from my parents.
Damien loved being a dad so much that we ended up expanding our family...a lot. I was twenty-five and currently on baby number five. I know, I'm just a baby making machine. Being a mom is awesome though.
I finished dressing up Aspyn, who was eighteen months now. She had the most adorable dress with a polka-dotted bow in her hair.
"Mommy, wuv you," she said.
"Aww! Mommy loves you too Aspyn," I said.
I picked her up, careful to watch out for my massive bump. It definitely wasn't twins this time, but this little one was a massive chonker.
I went out into the backyard, which was all set up for our big gender reveal. My identical three-year-olds, Alexandria and Alexsis, were running through the sprinklers with Autumn, who was already almost nine. Where does the time go, seriously?
"So, do you think this gender reveal will go off like the last three?" my mom asked, taking Aspyn from me.
"Geez, I hope not. Damien will have a heart attack if he finds out it's another girl," I said.
"Hey, there's my perfect wife!" Damien said, coming from behind to kiss me on the cheek. "Let's do this already!"
"Is the cannon ready?" I asked.
"Right here, sis!" Apple said, handing me the massive glitter cannon. She was practically ready to pop herself. My very first nephew was due in only three more weeks. "I can't wait."
"Me either!" I said.
I took Aspyn back and we called the rest of the girls over. Damien got everyone's attention and got ready to fire the cannon. Everyone let out a big "Thee, two, one!" And my husband fired.
A shower of blue confetti flew through the air. Damien was so happy that he skipped through the yard and jumped into the pool shouting, "Yes, a boy! Finally!"
All three of my older girls were crying because they wanted another sister to play with. Damien came out of the pool, totally soaking wet and gave me a big kiss on the lips. It was crazy how we got here, but I wouldn't have it any other way.
