As we sail out of the thick fog that rolled on top of us out of nowhere, finally clearing the blackish white pea soup, our eyes lock onto the prize we have been on the sea for the last four days to collect. The guys cheer with a big hooray pumping their fists in the air.
"It's about time we found this thing! I was hoping we would not crash into it while we were in that fog" Dodge looks at me smiling.
We pull up aside the massive cargo ship that was found about two weeks ago in international waters, and this had all the scavengers trying to find it again.
Muller walks up to me and puts his hand on my shoulder. "We need to be careful as we get on this. There is no telling what shape it is in, don't want anyone falling through the floors."
"I thought you had already boarded this thing before you hired us" looking at him as my blonde hair falls into my face.
He pushes it back with an evil smirk, and it sends chills down my spine. "I was over it in a helicopter about two weeks ago but never got on it. It traveled over one hundred fifty miles being adrift."
Scott steps up with ropes. "Let's get this thing tied off to our boat and get it home as fast as we can. There is no telling what is sitting in those containers up there."
He throws the grappling hook then climbs up the massive rusty side of the ship. Flipping a ladder over the side, we all get onto the ship. After a quick tour, it is the sound to pull, and Dodge gets it hooked to the boat as we secure the ropes on the bow. Going to the wheelhouse, I find the rudder free, so we can steer it as he pulls.
We are making good headway when the main boat breaks down. Going to check to see what is wrong; there is a massive explosion as sparks and flames fly high.
"DODGE! Oh God, NO!" dropping onto my knees while watching my father's boat slowly sink into the deep blue sea.
Scott comes running up the deck when a panel gives out from under him. Running to the hole, I see him laying two decks down in a massive twisted position, his eyes lifeless.
Muller walks up behind me, laying his hand on my shoulder as I cry over my lost mates " You know, I hated doing that to them, but you were the one I was after, so here is your choice, to join me for eternity or die like your mates."
"What do you mean?" tears running down my face.
"I am the Devil; you are my mate. So you can either join me or die."
Looking at him, I do the only thing I can. Accept his offer, spending entirety helping him collect souls for our kingdom.
