Today was the day Hyunjin meets my parents, and by the looks at it he looks terrified.
"What if they don't like me? W-what if they think I'm not good enough for you? Do you think they'll break us up? I want them to like me. They won't take you away from me right-"
"Babe calm your ass down." I interrupted his ranting, he looked like a mess right.
My parents were never really strict when it came to my relationships. We have always had a close relationship ever since I was born. I was an only child growing up so my parents and I had an open and trusted relationship. When I told them I wanted to move to Korea when I turned 20. They were of course saddened at the idea of letting go their only child move far away from them, but they knew that moving to Korea was always my dream.
I met Hyunjin- well technically we bumped into each other when I wasn't paying attention (cheesy asf I know). But yeah, he asked me out so that I can make it up to him. Well that one make up "date" turned into two, then three then you know what happened. He ended up asking me out, on my 21 birthday and ever since then we're still growing strong. I'm now 22 years of today. My parents decided to fly across the world for the first time and it's also their first time meeting Hyunjin. I always mentioned him to them when I visited them in Miami and showed them pictures of us, but they've never saw him face to face.
I checked the clock to see the time. "They should be arriving here in the next...5 minutes," I told him as I walked past him and placed the food down on the table. I decided to make some good good food. I made some cornbread with fried chicken, mac in cheese (the real cheesy kind), collargreens, and black beans and rice. For dessert I made my nana's red velvet cake. Simple but it made me miss my mama's and nana's cooking at home.
"We have the wine right babe? Because I think we gonna need it to survive the night." Hyunjin scratched the back of his neck as he looked around for the wine which was already on the table.
"Baby come here," I opened my arms for him as he stopped and looked at me. He immediately wrapped his arms around me. "You need to relax, my parents are gonna love you okay? They have been waiting to meet you for awhile now. So calm down, you're gonna be fine everything's gonna be fine tonight. Alright?" He sighed but nodded his head, I smiled at him and brought his head down so I can kiss him.
I softly planted my lips on his, Hyunjin immediately melted into the kiss and pulled me closer to get more access. Our lips softly glided against each other, we were like that for a couple more moments. Until we heard a knock on the door. I pulled away and smiled at him. "They're here!"
I walked towards the door but was stopped by the hands of my boyfriend. "Wait babe I look okay right?"
