Without you
stupid love songs I used to make fun of,
started to make sense.
My friends laugh at them
and become annoyed as I lay vulnerable.
I have to push out the thoughts in my mind
that preach that I'll be nothing without you.
But it's so hard
when all I want to do is listen to the music,
and write our story in the melody.

Explanation and insight:
I wrote this in class today!
This poem is about not wanting to let go after a relationship ends.
Learning to let go after a breakup, and push back the voices telling you to hold on, is a sad lesson, yet a lesson we all have to learn one day :) because life goes on ! And if it were meant to be, it would have been.
There is no meaning to the title, other than an inside joke :)
This is in no way a diss on Dodie Clark. ❤️❤️ Her writing isn't cheesy. She's extremely talented. This is about, "Dancing With a Stranger" by Sam Smith, and all those other cheesy and overplayed pop love songs that never seem to leave the radio.:D
