Y/n's POV

The Monday after my date with Julian I returned to the cafe, I didn't usually go on Sundays as I wasn't working. We had messaged since then, but there wasn't a mention of meeting again -I was beginning to worry he maybe didn't like me as much as I'd hoped.
I walked into the cafe to see him tending to another customer, smiling friendly. I couldn't help but think that with a smile like that he could take his pick with partners, but when he saw me his face lit up in a way that silenced the cruel voice in my head.
He swiftly retrieved a take away cup from under the counter, placing it on top.
"I thought we should start with something more familiar," he explained. "Hazelnut praline hot chocolate, a seasonal favourite." He presented it to me with flair.
I asked how much it would be, which he was almost shocked by.
"Nadia says this one's on the house, first date special."
I felt myself grinning, blushing, stupidly. He looked down on me warmly, deeply, like we were the oldest of friends, however he also looked like he'd had little sleep -less than usual, that is.
Julian glanced over the cafe and then over his shoulder, he leant closer to me from across the counter top.
A blush covered my cheeks, I coughed. "Please tell her I said thanks." I fidgeted with the lid of the cup, feeling ridiculous.
He reached out and took my hand, pulling it closer to him, I had to press my lips together to stop my smile from widening any more, yet my face got hotter nonetheless.
"I really enjoyed Saturday."
He had already said that.
"Me too."
I had already said that.
His expression softened, "we'll have to arrange something else sometime."
I would have spent every hour of every day in that cafe if it meant I could pester him. I nodded, "I'll text you?"
He smiled a soft, sweet smile, "please do." Lightly, he pressed a kiss on my hand, very gentlemanly, I floundered out some form of goodbye and hastily exited, self conscious of my ever-crimson face.
