Where Am I?

I woke up in a different surrounding that I've came to known well. I looked to my side to see Hank. I hope this is real and not a dream or hallucination but I'm pretty sure this is real.

"Hank? Is...is that really you?" My voice was hoarse.

He quickly turned around and smiled.

"Victoria, you're awake. How do you feel?"

"I feel ok. My head really hurts. How long have I been gone? I don't remember much and you look older."

"You've been gone for twenty years. They did something with your DNA that you only have aged 5 years." He hands me a mirror.

I take it and look at myself. I didn't even recognize myself. I look like I've been through a lot.

"Wow." I hand him. "Where's my brother?"

"He's teaching right now but I can go get him."

"You guys really did it?"

"Yes, but we did have a rough start though. It's going smoothly now and you have some catching up to do. It's 1982."

"Woah. Is Alex here?"

"I think he's doing good. Haven't seen him for awhile though."

"Oh ok. How long will I stay here?"

"Just to be on the safe side, I'd like you to stay for the night. You're dehydrated and malnourished so I want to get plenty of fluids in you."

"Ok. I missed you all."

"We missed you too." He hugged me.

I smiled and hugged him.

"I'm not going to ask a bunch of questions today but we would like to know what happened."

"I can't remember much."

"That's understandable. Let me go get Charles."

A few minutes later Hank came back with my brother behind. Charles wheeled up to the bed. He looked at me and I could tell he was about to cry. I scooted over so he could sit on the bed. He pushed himself onto the bed and pulled me into a tight hug.

"I missed you terribly." He kissed my cheek. "I'm overjoyed that you're alive."

"Me too. I don't ever want to leave the mansion again." I said half jokingly. "My head hurts so bad."

Hank gave me something for the pain.

"Thank you, Hank."

"You're welcome."

"Are you hungry? It's almost lunch time. I can go get you something to eat." Charles told me.

"I am hungry."

"Ok. I'll be back in a few minutes."
