POV Emily

I left her on my bedroom table and left. I never thought about how humans look at us giants. I never really took that under control consideration. I walked to the living room and sat down. I sat forward and thought of the tallest building I had ever seen. I was visiting the capital on a field trip. It was apparently 150 giant feet tall, according to the owner. That's about the size difference Hazel has to us giants. The thought of a building that large being a living being scares me.

I snapped out of my train of thought then remembered how rough I was with Hazel. I didn't mean to scare her. I never wanted her to fear me. It just annoyed me how she didn't care about any of this. I worked hard to get into this collage. Its very hard to get into alone. Yet this girl.. whom just appeared out of nowhere did it with relative ease. Did they just accepted her because she is a human? Is that why?

I lifted my legs and layed on the couch. I stared up at the ceiling continuing to think. How do I get her to like me?

POV Hazel

I remained on the counter exposed. I hated being here. I have always hated large empty spaces. I always have this feeling something is gonna grab me and take me away. I shivered at the thought. I looked around and found a cup full of pencils. I walked towards it and hid behind it. I felt better being between the pencil cup and the wall. If a giant so happens to pass by they wouldn't see me.... I think.

I layed there for a few minutes till I heard large footsteps. My attention immediately diverted to the noise. Emily walked through the door and looked a bit worried when she didn't see me.

"Hazel?" She called out.

I slowly stood up and leaned against the pencil cup. It would be wise to approach her but I don't want to risk her getting mad. I'll stay here for the rest of the day and come out later. I just need some time to myself.

"Hazel?!?!" Emily cried urgently. Emily started moving the few items on the table till she lifted the pencil cup revealing my positing.

I froze in place. I didn't expect her to find me.

She placed the cup down away from me and stood there. I coulden't tell if she was angry or worried or even saddend. "I-I didn't mean to scare you," She tried to explain, " I didn't know where you were and I started to panick." She moved her finger closer but I fell on my butt and scooted away. I could have had a better reaction.

"I'm so sorry I should have asked first," she apologized as she pulled her finger back.

I looked down. Now I feel bad. I should have let her touch me. "D-Don't a-apologize," I managed to speak. "I could have reacted better. I-It was just i-instinct."

A small smile appered on her face. I coulden't help but blush. Her hand slowly slid under me and lifted me up. Surprisingly I didn't move. I allowed her to do this. She then used her other hand's finger to pet my head. A big smile appered on my face.

"You're so cute," Emily smiled. "I'm sorry for being so rough with you during class. I didn't intend to do that."

I looked down not knowing that to do.

"I didn't know you were so afraid," She spoke. "If I had known I would have been more gentle."

I moved my hand to my side and slightly brushed against Emily's hand. "Thank you for being considered," I spoke.

"Do you want something to eat?" Emily asked. "We have 40 or so minutes before our next class, assuming we have the same classes."

"We must have the same classes," I agreed, "the dean said that you would be my ride to almost everywhere.  She did give me a key to unlock the dorm if I went with someone else."

"You have a key?" Emily asked.

I nodded.

"I am surprised you can lift it," Emily scoffed a bit.

"I am small but I can lift a God damn key!!" I yelled. I felt somewhat offended .

Emily reached in her pocket and pulled out a key slightly taller than me. She placed the key on the table and me next to it. "Lift it," Emily asked curious.

I stared at the huge key and began to wrap my fingers under it. My tiny body managed to lift it slightly up the ground before fumbling over.

"Hmm," Emily hummed knowing she was right.

I walked across the table and reached in my bag. I knew I had a key the princaple gave me. It was no where near that size. I pulled the key out with a struggle and presented it to Emily.

"This is my key," I smirked.

Emily gently grabbed the key from my arms and examined it. "This is so small!" Emily exlaimed.

"Its very big to me," I mummbled.

Emily placed it in my bag once more and attempted to zip it up.

"I can zip it," I spoke not wanting her to accidentally break it. Emily removed her fingers from my bag as I zipped it up and placed my bag behind my back.

"Lets get something to eat," I exclaimed.

"Do you need anything besides that key?" Emily asked.

"I don't have any text books," I reminded her.

"Why?" She asked.

"I don't really know. Maybe they needed to print a smaller copy for me."

Emily scooped me in the palm of her hand and bought me to her breast pocket. I slid and landed in the breast pocket then removed the backpack and pushed it to the side. It was starting to get really heavy. I felt Emily move as I peeped out of her pocket.

Without any more delay Emily walked out of the room and grabbed her backpack.
