CHAPTER 23: NEW APARTMENT

Sejeong moves around, loosen her muscles. She glances at the alarm clock on the table. It's already 9 o'clock in the evening. She has been busy unpacking her things since the morning.

She moves in right after Chanyeol managed to clear up the apartment. She feels so relieves to be able to moves out of Sehun's apartment. Their current relationship makes it more awkward to stay there.

'Its such a relief that he doesn't ask me to live together. I don't know how to answer to that'

Their relationship is too young. There are a lot of things that they didn't know of each other. Even though Sehun talks about his brothers sometimes, Sejeong never meet them in real life. Sehun also haven't meet her brother yet. They feel comfortable being with each other, but Sejeong knows that being in relationship means more than that.

Suddenly, Sejeong heard a knock in her bedroom door. She turns to the door to see her mother.

Mrs Kim: Seje ah. Mom will head home first. I've already put the side dishes in your fridge.

Mrs Kim comes to Sejeong's new apartment to help her with cleaning up. Sejeong walks to her mother.

Sejeong: You are going home? Why don't you just stay the night?

Mrs Kim: I have to work tomorrow. A client asked for an early appointment. It such a hassle to go from here early in the morning.

Sejeong hugs her mother, refused to let her go.

Sejeong: How can you put your client first before me. Ain't I your only daughter?

Sejeong makes a sad face. Her mother gives her a smack on her back.

Mrs Kim: Stop being a baby. Aren't you ashamed of being seen by Sehunie?

Sejeong stuns. Hyungnim is here? She wanders her eyes around before stucks it at Sehun's, who is standing still leaning to the wall, watching her with his hands on his mouth, hiding his laughter. Sejeong's face redden. She loosen her hug and clears her throat.

Sejeong: I'm just joking mom. I'm just worried about you. It's already dark outside. How are you going home alone?

Mrs Kim: Sehun insists of sending me home. Ain't my son in law so nice?

Sejeong rounded her eyes. Her mom knows? Then, she glares at Sehun. Did you tell my mom?

Sehun just rubs his neck, feeling guilty. His conversation with Mrs Kim flashbacks in his mind.

Mrs Kim: Our Seje is such a strong girl.

Mrs Kim sudden words makes Sehun's hands stop. He is helping Mrs Kim with the side dishes. He looks at Mrs Kim, waiting for her to continue.

Mrs Kim: You knew what happened to her dad right?

Sehun nods.

Mrs Kim: Before that incident happened, Sejeong has a very close relationship with her father. She loves him so much that it makes me jealous sometimes.

Mrs Kim chuckles. Sehun gives a sweet smile.

Mrs Kim: When her father first being accused of bribery, we are so messed up. Both me and her dad are too focused on clearing her father's name that we didn't realised that we have neglected Seje. She always showing a smile whenever we see her. I didn't know she was bullied so bad at school until I got a call from the teacher. Then, Seungyoonie told me everything. At that time, I feel so failed as a mother.
