Chapter 2

Hello Mami

(Next morning)

I woke up and looked at the alarm. My eyes widened. 'SHIT! My dad will kill me if I don't get downstairs ASAP!' I thought to myself.

As I was getting up from my bed, I heard a groan. I looked to the other side of my bed and noticed Troy there still sleeping. I kissed his forehead on the way to see my dad.

"You're late," Dad said, leaning against the wall with a huge smirk plastered on his face.

(FLASHBACK)

9 YEARS EARLIER

I was six years old when I showed my daddy the rose my mom gave to me. "Oh, sweetheart, it looks gorgeous!" He said, looking at both Mom and me. "Just like me!" I said, smiling at myself.

My mom and dad laughed at what I had just said. Suddenly, we heard a loud growl. We turned around, and I ran to my parents, scared. What I saw will forever haunt me: a black wolf was approaching us, and it shifted back into a human in the blink of an eye.

It looked straight at me and smirked. And then it spoke to me, "You'll be next."

6-year-old me gulped, confused, and I looked at my parents and the human wolf. They began a yelling match. My eyes grew wide as I witnessed the human wolf punch my dad across the wall, knocking him out. I screamed my dad's name.

When I screamed, the human-wolf glanced towards my mom and me. It was about to decide if it was going to pounce on my mom or me. It chose me.

I was scared shitless as it was going closer and closer. The human wolf was about to pounce on me, but he couldn't. At the last moment, he turned and backed off, running off into the forest.

With tears in their eyes, my parents saw how shocked I was. My mom rushed over and clutched me in a hug.

(FLASHBACK ENDS)

"LILLY!" My dad yelled at me, forcing me back to reality.

"Dad, I'm sorry, I'm here." I gulped. I hate when he smirks because it reminds me of that human wolf. I will not lie. They looked the same when I was 6. I couldn't know for certain there was no difference then, but now since I'm 15, about to be 16, I can tell they are the same.

Dad was staring at me funny, shaking his head, "Hunny, I love you. But I think it's time to go to your mother's."

'WHAT?!' I thought in my head. "Dad! To my mom's, are you crazy? She never visits! I mean, once in a while, she'll come but..."

I was going to continue until dad cut me off, "Hunny, I know, but I called her, and she thinks it's time for you to see her."

I looked at my dad and tried giving puppy dog eyes, hoping to change his mind. It doesn't work. All he does is laugh. I sighed and gave out a nervous laugh. I tried.

"Is Troy coming with me, at least?" I asked.

"He's going too. He has to," he replied.

"Hey Dad, why now? Why has she contacted us now, after all this time? I'm just curious."

He rubbed my cheeks and smiled. "You'll know why soon. Please be on your best behavior. Your mom has her reasons." He hugs me tight.

"Dad, you know why?" He stops hugging me and gives me a look. I can see in his eyes he is hiding something from me. I was mad at both of them for lying to me. And not only me, but my brother too, putting both of us in pain.

"What the fuck Dad, how could you do this to Troy and me?" I yelled, on the verge of tears.

I had to stop and be a strong big sister for Troy. "Dad, I hate you! I hate you!" I yelled at my dad, even though I didn't mean it.
