Prologue: The Mission of Unknown

Author's Note: Before we start, I'll explain what Commander Shepard's background detail so there's no confusion

Background:

 Shepard's parents were in the Alliance military. His childhood was spent on ships and stations as they transferred from posting to posting, never staying in one location for more than a few years. Following in his parents' footsteps, he enlisted at the age of eighteen.

Early in his military career, he found himself facing an overwhelming enemy force. He risked his own life to save his fellow soldiers and defeat the enemy despite the impossible odds. His bravery and heroism have earned his medals and recognition from the Alliance fleet. The War Hero almost single-handedly repelled an attack by slavers, earning the Star of Terra, the Alliance's highest honor.

During the mission at Eden Prime. Shepard, Alenko, and Jenkins are sent down to secure a prothean beacon while having the support of a spectre, Nihlus. After walking away from the drop point, Jenkins is the first to be shot down by the enemy, The Geth. But soon meet up with a surviving Alliance Soldier, Ashley Williams. Only to discover later that Nihlus, a Council Spectre, is dead at the drydock where they believe the prothen beacon will be.

After the incident at Eden Prime, Shepard made sure to take down Saren, only to be stopped by the politics of The Citadel Council, not knowing his next step is. There he met a Turian named Garrus Valkarian, a C-Sec Investigator and a part of the Investigation Division of C-Sec. He was responsible for the investigation of Saren Arterius, the Council's top Spectre, after the Alliance claimed Saren had gone rogue. Although Garrus was told that the investigation was over, he decided to defy the Executor's order and pursue another lead on his own. Eventually, Garrus attempts to join Commander Shepard's team to help defeat Saren and the geth.

While Shepard is finding enough proof that Saren went rogue, Garrus explains about a source about a Quarian that is being hunted down by Saren's men. Taking his chances, Shepard and Garrus went to the location to save the Quarian before its too late.

The Quarian's name that they saved is Tali'Zorah nar Rayya or Tali for short. She is on her pilgrimage, the rite of passage to prove her worth and bring something of value back to her people aboard the Migrant Fleet. Also having an audio log that has been extracted from one of the geth patrols during her pilgrimage on another planet, it was enough proof that Saren went rogue and responsible for the attack at Eden Prime.

After presenting the proof to the council, Commander Shepard has been chosen and promoted to be a part of the Council's Spectre. Also giving him the mission of personally track down and stop Saren from his goal, The Conduit.

Before heading into the elevator that leads up to the Docking bay of Normandy SR-1, Commander Shepard and his new team were stopped by a Krogan bounty hunter, Wrex. He insists on letting Shepard having the bounty money for taking out the "Source" that has the information of the Qurian, Tali. But, in return, he wants to join the crew to take down Saren. Shepard shrugs and accepts the Krogan's proposal. The more, the merrier.

Arriving at the Docking Bay, he and his team are greeted by Captain Anderson and Ambassador Udina, where the Ambassador explains about the Admiral's sudden step-down from commanding the Normandy. Letting Commander Shepard be the one to command with a loyal crew and a strong, advanced vessel. After Shepard's questions are answered, he and his crew set off to Citadel Space, The beginning of their unknown adventure.

Commander Sheperd is now planning to which planet he'll go first until Joker spoke up through the coms...

Joker: "Message for you, Commander. Just came in from a secure channel." he says over the coms from the bridge

Shepard: "Patch it through, Joker." he says, standing on the bridge of the CIC (Combat Information Center)

Message: "Shepard, this is Admiral Kahoku, I hope you get this message before a rogue group called Cerberus managed to stop and track this message. I know you just became a Spectre and that is enough for me to entrust you this information. Cerberus is an alliance black ops organization, top-secret, highest level security clearance. They vanished a few months ago, drop right off the grid, nobody knew where they went or what they are up to. They've gone completely rogue, Shepard. I don't have any proof but I'll upload the coordinates with this message. They are conducting to experiment something to create a super so-" the message says before it got cut off by static.

Joker: "That was it, Commander. Just static." he says through the coms after removing the message

Shepard: "Are the coordinates added to the CIC, Joker?" he asks

Joker: "Sure did, Commander. It's your choice if you want to this first before we head out and track down a rogue spectre" he says through the coms

Shepard: "Any suggestion, Pressly?" he asks, the executive officer of the Normandy SR-1

Pressly: "Commander, if you really want my opinion in this. We should wipe out this Cerberus first. Like what the Admiral said, they're rogue and conducting experiments we still don't know of and for what reason." he voiced his opinion

Joker: "For the first time, I'll agree with the XO, Commander." he said through the coms

Shepard: "Alright, head to the coordinates that Admiral Kohaku gave us." he said with authority in his voice

Joker: "Right away, Commander." he said before the coms went silent, and the ship's sudden change of speed

???: "I already sent the message... It'll only be a matter of time for rescue to arrive... It's time to wake up"
