"Pika-piii—-pika-piiiiiii ....Ka-Chu!—!(Aasshhh—Aassssshhhh! Wake-Up!)"

Opening my eyes, I see an adorable yellow and red furry rodent face in front of me, a frustrated expression showing, but not really registering in my brain against the haze of sleep.
"Mmhh? Laxus, what are you doing? What time is it? Zzzzzzz...." There was the slight sound of misplaced air, and then.... "ACK! I'M UP!" I rubbed my cheek and glared sleepily at my buddy, who snorted in amusement and jumped off my bed.

'He—he freaking slapped me with his tail! Grrr. That brat!
Why did he—?' I caught the numbers on my alarm clock and jerked. 'Oh!'

"Shit! I'm late, I'm late! Leaf's gonna strangle me! Fuck! Laxus find me my hat! Damnit, I don't have time to exercise or eat— damn!"

Shoving my clothes on that I had picked out, a pair of shorts with a magnetic belt that held my empty Pokéballs, the only ball slot being officially filled was Laxus's. It had a small pouch for treats attached, with a larger pouch on the other side for survival, a knife, matches, water purification tablets, sanitizer spray, a compass and a folded up map, etc. it also held a small collection of medicine for humans.

Mainly for headaches, a couple bottles of daily vitamins, and a small bottle of strong pain reliever for emergencies. It held a few other things, like a cream for sore muscles and band-aids of various sizes as well.
I was thankful I had room for my feminine things too, I wasn't traveling anywhere without my period medicine and chocolate. Being a girl sucks sometimes.

My shorts were a dark green stretchy khaki material, almost black, and I wore a sports bra in the same color. A black and green jacket that I left unzipped was pulled on over my sports bra, my black and green shoes and a pair of dark green anti-tear stockings that I wore up to my thighs to prevent stray brambles and sticks from tearing up my legs. I uh...like green, if it isn't obvious.

The reason I was forgoing brighter colors though, save the stripes, was for two reasons. The first was because certain colors aggravated certain Pokémon species, or activated a hunting instinct in them when they see it, and I did not want to be mistaken as their natural prey. Daring for those who do so regardless though.

The second reason was because brighter colors could cause me to be seen by a wild Pokémon I was either trying to catch, or trying to escape from. So the green was also for stealth purposes as a lot of Pokémon tended to live in very grassy areas or forests.
And because it rocked.

(For the second reason, I had a nasty surprise in the shape of a special whistle around my neck. A great idea I had when I learned about the hearing of different Pokémon species being a lot better than humans. Any who decided I was prey was in for a shock. It also would let Laxus know I was in trouble if we were separated.)

I grabbed and pulled on my very expensive Tech Zero travel bag, gifted to me through my Aunt Christy and her new husband Terrace in Sinnoh. (My mom's younger sister who has the twin boys from the pictures in our hall, and just last year Aunt Christy had a daughter too.)

Thankful for the gift and eager to leave, I checked I had all my supplies packed, remembering that I wanted to get my cousins a specific starter Pokémon from my region in return that they asked for. (A surprise for Alex and an Onyx for Jake.)

The Tech Zero bag was an interesting bit of technology, and it came with camping gear already packed. It was specifically for trainers and was the best Pokémon Journey tool for all trainers.
It was also about the same as the inventory backpack in the Pokémon games in my last life.
