thanks to him, you bought a phone that weekend and called your aunt enough for her to answer.
and in fact. she did want you to come over. which you did.
that was probably something you shouldn't have done.
"did you really just invite me just so i'd see my mother?!" you bursted at your aunt.
"i'm sorry...she' wants to see you." your aunt said.
"i don't, though! i cant. not yet. she kicked me out, alone. with no phone either. i had to walk to my friends house. with my stuff! and i suffered for so long because of her." you yelled, storming out.
"y/n, just give her a chance." your aunt pleaded.
"tell her to plead for herself. she should at least try and call me." you rolled your eyes.
that was the other suspicious thing. she didn't ever bother to call you.

the next week, you wanted to release all your stress and relax. you wanted to hang out with friends, too.
you had a few options.
terushima, kuroo or kenma. however, terushima had a girlfriend and was probably on vacay with her.
and you preferred kenma over kuroo because kuroo was busy.
so the next day at work, you decided to ask him.
"uh, kenma?" you groaned.
"hm?"
"can you have dinner with me today...?" you asked. you sank into the sofa in the office as he scanned you.
he was basically analyzing your condition. you were tired, drained, and hopeless.
"okay." he answered. he looked away while saying it, making you smile.
"really? like for real kenma?!" you shook his shoulders.
"sure. but stop doing that." he pointed at your arms.
"oops."
******
both of you drove to a japanese restaurant. you were going to eat barbecue today.
"woohoo! thanks so much, kenma. i didn't expect you to say yes." you thanked for the 100th time.
"yeah, no problem. but you're paying." kenma smiled while side eyeing you.
"yeah, haha...don't worry." both of you walked into the restaurant and got seated, waiting for food. you couldn't wait to drink and finally have a nice conversation with your boss.
"hey, y/n?" kenma asked.
"yeahhhh?" you asked already drinking a shot.
"what happened during your weekend?" it seemed as if he already knew what happened to you, but just asked so you could tell him yourself.
you laughed nervously and decided to tell him. this was probably the one day both of you could get closer, anyway.
"well....you know my mom..she kicked me out when i was 16 and hasn't called me since. but my aunt brought her to her house when i went over...." you took another shot.
kenma looked confused and concerned. you were drinking shots really quickly and had a concerning story.
"i was so mad...my aunt brought the woman who made me go through so much...i couldn't face her. i still can't. i can't even forgive her." you wailed, laying your head on the table.
kenma raised both of his eyebrows. he was completely surprised. the fact you were really emotional and not laughing worried him.
but besides that, the waiter brought the food.
"u-uh, y/n...the food." he whispered, making you sit up. you took one more shot before digging in.
"hey kenma? can you feed me?" you asked. you had the sleepy-resting eyes with a bright smile. kenma was very sure you were drunk.
"sigh, fine." he said, feeding you a bite.
"sooooo, kenma. what about you? why don't you ever hang out with me after work? or eat lunch?" you rubbed your eyes.
"well my dearest drunk y/n, i'm still not the social type. i didn't really know you and was kinda nervous." kenma confessed.
he just let it all out, surprising you. he probably only confessed since you were hella drunk.
"hmph. kenma was nerrrvous?" you teased.
"oh please, you'd get nervous too if your boss asked you to lunch all of the sudden." kenma hissed.
"hmph....fine." you admitted.
"well now that we're eating dinner together..are you less nervous?" you asked.
"...why..?" kenma hesitantly answered.
"because, now we can have lunch together." you sassed him.
"uh, sure. i guess." he rolled his eyes.
"by the way, i like your bun and the way your eyes sparkle in the dark." you complimented, making kenma freeze.
not only did he freeze, but he turned red.
"aww, kenma's flustered." you cackled. he rolled his eyes and sighed, again knowing very much he'd end up paying and taking you home drunk.
he did end up doing just that.
"kuroo?" kenma asked through the phone.
"ayyy! kenma's calling me first! what's wrong?" kuroo pleasantly answered.
"ugh, do you know the passcode to y/n's home?" kenma asked, planning to drop her off soon.
"huh? are you breaking in or-"
kenma immediately hung up, calling terushima this time.
"hello? terushima calling."
"hey, this is kenma. do you know the passcode to y/n's house?" he asked.
"uh, yeah. it's 674829. why?" terushima asked.
"she's drunk as hell." kenma said, before hanging up. he then carried you to the elevator and your apartment.
you were passed out 100%.
"good night, y/n." kenma said. his golden brown eyes glowed in the dark as he put you in your bed, leaving.
