Clementine lay in bed staring at the grimy wooden ceiling.
Violet was fast asleep next to her, leaning on her chest. Clem had her arm wrapped around Violet's shoulder, but despite how calm her girlfriend was, Clementine was worried.
She was worried that she had endangered the group by making a bad decision, she had no idea if Minerva was genuine when she joined them.
There was, of course, the fact that she helped them get Louis, Omar and Asim off the boat without Lily and her raiders knowing.
She didn't even bat an eye when the bomb went off and sent the boat to the bottom of the river, but Clementine couldn't shake the feeling that Minerva wasn't completely trustworthy.
She angled her head up to look out the window, being careful not to move too much as to wake up Violet.
It was incredibly dark outside, she guessed it would have been somewhere close to two in the morning. The realization of how late, or rather early, it was made Clem involuntarily yawn. Eventually, her fatigue got the better of her and she drifted off to sleep.Clementine stirred, she could hear birds outside chirping and felt warmth from the sunlight on her face. She opened her eyes and saw Violet, propped up on her elbow smiling at her.
"How long have you been watching me?" Clem said groggily.
"Oh, like all night," She giggled, "I'm kidding, I woke up a few minutes ago."
Clem smiled back and kissed her before lying back down, Violet joined her, getting as close as she could.
"Let's just stay in bed like this all day, fuck work." Violet laughed softly.
"You have no idea how much I want to."
Clem kissed her on the head, Violet climbed over and was lying on top of her.
"I don't see why we can't."
Violet pressed her hands on either side of Clem's face and kissed her deeply. Clementine closed her eyes and reciprocated.
Clem was so happy that if Lily barged in and shot her in the head right now, she would still chalk this up as the best morning of her life.
Violet began kissing her neck and a soft moan escaped from Clem's lips. Violet's hands moved down from her face and began making their way up her shirt. She could feel her fingers moving up her abdomen, riding her shirt up as they went.
A knock at the door interrupted them. Clem made a mental note to murder whoever it was in their sleep. Violet got off her, Clem pulled her T-shirt down and looked back at violet before answering the door. Louis stood in the hall, he looked over Clem's shoulder to see Violet who was now bright red and shot Clementine a grin."You dog." He joked.
Clem punched him in the arm, just hard enough to tell him to knock it off.
"Omar wanted me to tell you guys that breakfast is ready, everyone's out in the courtyard."
"Thanks Louis, we'll be down soon."
He winked and gave Clem a thumbs up before walking away.
She shut the door and let out a long sigh, Violet nodded in agreement."For fuck's sake Louis." Violet shook her head.
"I know, you'd swear he timed it just to fuck with us." Clementine laughed, pulling on her boots.
They went downstairs and joined the others in the courtyard, Clem and Violet sat down next to each other as Omar handed them each a plate.
"Holy shit Omar, are these eggs?" Violet said awestruck, poking the yellow mass with her fork.
"They're powdered, don't taste as good but they'll fill your stomach."
Violet was already scooping the eggs into her mouth before he could finish his sentence.
