you and Lili had been friends since you were teenagers, now aged in your middle 20s, you were best friends, did everything together, told each other  everything and got each other through high school, but what she didn't know was that you had a huge crush on her.

you were extremely shy so confessing your feelings to her wasn't really an option, and then  as time progressed you both had different dreams and ambitions but you always promised to stay in touch no matter what.

She had always been interested in performing arts and becoming an actor and potential writer someday and to see her achieve her dreams by landing a huge role in a show called riverdale was definitely one of the proudest moments in your life. However this meant she had to move to L.A full time whilst you stayed in your home town of Cleveland, Ohio.

You didn't mind though, you had your dream job of becoming a medical student and graduating college with a degree in nursing and you still talked to Lili everyday.

It was nearing Christmas and Lili always came back to Cleveland around Christmas time to spend time with her family and this also meant she got to see you for the first time in over six months, to say you were feeling nervous was an understatement....

You had agreed to meet up in a restaurant with a few of your friends from Cleveland as well as Lili to catch up and see where we all are currently, you had put on your nicest dress and applied makeup before deciding it was finally time to leave.

You opened the door only to reveal Lili standing there smiling from cheek to cheek as she saw the excitement light up in your starstruck eyes, you quickly hugged each other and screamed externally to express how over joyed you were to see the smile you had been waiting to see for months now! 

Since she was already dressed up and had her car parked outside your house, she just offered to take you both to the restaurant instead of both of you separately driving, the car ride was peaceful, you could just hear the quiet sounds of the music harmonising through the speakers as the wind blew in your face.

You had finally reached the restaurant and saw your friends right away already seated at a table, you rushed over to them and all said your greetings and caught up with each other while waiting for your food to arrive.

You and Lili were sat opposite each other and kept stealing glances and smiling at each other as you all told old stories from when you all used to hang out in high school, reminiscing on old times always brought a smile to your face, the first time you laid eyes on Lili, the first time you hung out and when you both graduated high school together.

There had always been a special connection between you and Lili, from the stolen glances to the innocent stares from across the room, you never though she reciprocated the feeling so you just brushed it off as your imagination.

As you daydreamed about these moments you felt a little kick from underneath the table, you looked up to see Lili giving you a cheeky grin, you giggled back as your friends were too engrossed in their own conversations to even acknowledge the encounter.

You gave her foot a little kick back as revenge and that seemed to start the little war of footsie underneath the table, you were so desperately in love with this girl but couldn't be brave enough to confess it.

You and your friends had just finished your meal and payed and as you were about to leave Lili pulled your arm back and said "wait y/n there's something i need to tell you", you gave her a small smile to encourage her to continue, "i've always liked you y/n, i understand if you don't wanna be friends after this but i can't keep this weight on my shoulders-" you cut her off by giving her a sweet kiss.

"I have waited so long for that Lili" you smiled at her as you leaned your head in her shoulder, you just stayed there for another hour just admiring each other and feeling grateful that you both reciprocated the same feelings, life felt so perfect in that moment.....
