The Criminal Within These Walls

Mr. Suzuki carefully takes the tube and places it in his suitcase. When Mr. Suzuki gets home, from his office, he immediately goes to his lab in the basement. Mr. Suzuki's wife, Susan, is full of concern for him, knowing he works so many hours. Upstairs, in their massive house, is Mr. Suzuki's children. Joseph, and Emily.

Mr. Suzuki ties the elastic band around his arm, just above his elbow. He hesitantly grabs the needle and tube from his suitcase. He pauses and takes a deep breath. He quickly takes the needles and draws the contents of the tube. Then he injects it in his left arm. He yanks the elastic band off. He laughs without amusement thinking of what he had just done.

The criminal mind is a mind full of wonders. Why do they do what they do? Mr. Suzuki has spent his entire adult life trying to figure it out. Just recently, he has thought himself to be successful in finding a cure for the brain. He created a substance that is supposed to change the mind frame and make the criminally insane, sane again. The drug itself makes the mind opposite than it was, to begin with. So sane people would become insane. Mr. Suzuki was so committed to this, that he wanted to test it out himself. The FDA wouldn't approve it for testing, they told Mr. Suzuki that it was too much of a risk.

Weeks had gone by and Mr. Suzuki hadn't noticed changes about himself. However, Susan did. She noticed that her husband had been changing. The children had no clue. They were wrapped up in their teenage bubbles of life. Certain changes in Mr. Suzuki were very peculiar. The way he held a knife while cutting his food, the way he looked at everyone in the family. He was slowly but surely changing.

One night, Mr.Suzuki is having dinner with his family. Everyone in the house helped prepare the food. This is how Mr. Suzuki wanted his family to be. They sat down and Mr. Suzuki asked his family how their day was, how school was, anything that they could talk about. The children simply told their father that everything was, "Fine." Mr. Suzuki became annoyed with them, he began to feel angry as he watched his children tap away on their phones at the dinner table.

Mr. Suzuki slammed his hands on the table, yelling at his family. Susan stood up and walked over to Mr. Suzuki trying to calm him down but instead, he put his palms around her throat and began to choke her. Joseph and Emily screamed and ran to help their mother. Once Susan was free she took the children and ran up the stairs and away from Mr. Suzuki.

Mr. Suzuki went into the kitchen and grabbed a knife. He clenched it in his hand and slowly walked up the stairs with his eye twitching and only one thought on his mind.
