~LATER THAT DAY~

You wake up from a GOOD nap and you feel a little better so you decide to try and take a walk outside. {Maybe fresh air will help} You walk upstairs and get dressed but in the bathroom this time because you still don't have curtains. {Maybe I should go to the store and get curtains while I'm on my walk} While walking out of the door you hear the almost silent guitar playing over at Wilbur house, which has become a habit at this point. You begin the walk to the store and on your walk you see a stray cat wound up in a bush on the side of the sidewalk. You bend down trying to get a better look. While looking at the stray you notice they are protecting a small amount of kittens, maybe 3-4 by the looks of it. "Hey, do you need help?" You ask the cat in a soft, yet somewhat loud voice. The cat hears you and wakes up. It stands up and you can see it's rib cage, it's stomach is so sunken in, the eyes are almost sealed shut due to poor care. The kittens are still asleep and the cat starts to walk over to you so you put your hand out so it can get familiar with your scent. "I'm one of the good guys. I'll find you guys a good home." You quickly go back and a box from your house.

When you get back to the cat and kittens you carefully place them all into the box and take them home. {Looks like I'm not getting curtains today} Arriving home you bring the kittens and cat into your bedroom so that they can roam around in an enclosed space. You decide to call the vet and tell the very kind lady on the phone what you found. She said "Oh my. Well you can bring them in and we will give each one a thorough exam and clean up. Would you like to get them vaccinated as well, if we find that they have not been vaccinated yet?" "Um, yes. How much do you think this will cost? Checkups and vaccinations and all that other stuff." You said in a questioning tone. "It will run you about, for five cats, let's say around five- six hundred each." The lady on the phone said, "Would you like to make an appointment?" {SIX HUNDRED BUCKS PER CAT!! Looks like it's time to get a job} "Yes I would." "Alrighty, how about one o'clock tomorrow." "Sounds great we will be there." You put your phone down and plop onto the bed just thinking of how you're gonna make enough money quickly. {Ah screw it. I'll find a way. Just maybe not right now. You know what, I'm gonna go and see if Wilbur wants a cat. I mean maybe, right? Well, it's worth a shot}

You arrive at Wilbur's door and ring the doorbell. A little bit later he comes to the door, "(y/n)! Hey, how are you feeling?"

"I'm feeling better and do you have a second?"

"Yeah, what's up?" Wilbur says leaning up against the doorway.

"So I found these kittens on the side of the sidewalk and was wondering if, once they get their shots and everything, you would like to keep one?" You say looking at him while you rock back and forth on your heels.

"Um, let me think about it. Okay?" He says leaning back up.

"Okay. It's fine if you don't want to keep one."

A small, yet very awkward pause, happens and to break the silence you say, "Well then, I best be on my way." Walking away you think that one- you'll get stuck with these cats or two- you'll have to put them all in a shelter. {damn it. I'm not putting these cats in shelter}
