It was cold and raining outside of Pop's, everything seemed different than a few years ago, but at the same time... exactly the same. Riverdale lost its spark, there was something missing in this sad town. And then I heard a bell ring. A girl with this beautiful blonde hair, wet from top to bottom, and lost eyes. I pretended not to realize her presence until she sat in front of me.
"I'm Elizabeth." She said trying to shake my hand. She had this beautiful smile, her bright green eyes looking directly at me, her hair looked darker because of the rain. "Hi, Elizabeth," I said and paid attention to my laptop again.
"You don't have a name?" She arched her brows, looking for an answer. I sighed.
"You don't need my name, you'll leave and forget about me, it's useless. Meanwhile, I will always have the memory of the beautiful lost blonde girl." I articulate before realizing my words, and how I called her beautiful. She must think I'm a creep. "I'll like to have the memory of the beautiful raven-haired boy who doesn't want to tell me his name."
"Why are you so interested to know my name?" I ask with no curiosity in my voice. "I like you and you seem really nice," she answered.
"Girls like you don't like people like me, Elizabeth," I say boldly. Whoever inside this diner could tell that we don't belong together. She's like sunshine and I'm a dark storm.
"You must hate yourself." She said. No tone underneath it. I couldn't tell if she was sarcastic, making fun of me, or feeling even... pity. I stayed silent, not saying anything else, and keep writing on my laptop.
Another bell rang, but this time Pop's was responsible for the action. "Jughead!" He said behind the counter.
"Jughead huh?" the blonde girl raised her eyebrows, I could see interest in her look.
"Pretty lame name." I stand up, going to the counter to pick up my burgers, and Elizabeth followed me. How persistent this girl was... I didn't even understand the interest she had in me. "Thank you, Pop," I said with a sarcastic tone under it. The girl sat by my side on the bar.
"What now?" I look at her again, sipping on my chocolate milkshake. "I'm just admiring you." She answered. Honestly, I was surprised by her choice of words, not often used with me. "What do you mean?" I say curious.
"Well, as I said before, you are pretty interesting. Besides beautiful of course. And you were pretty rude to me even if you didn't know me." I suddenly felt bad, she was right. I was pretty rude to her for no reason. "Sorry," I answer to her analysis. "Don't be. It's ok." Generally, I would think she was being polite, but there was this honesty look behind her eyes that made me feel calm.
"What are you writing?" She said after I looked back at my laptop. "I'm writing a story," I answered. "Well, thank you, Mr. Obvious." She giggled and I smiled. "I like your smile, Jughead." She said and I could see the crinkles on her eyes and then she let out a small laugh. "What are you laughing at?" I said smiling again. "My thoughts."
"Your thoughts must be funny as fuck, then." There was this moment of silence until she started laughing again, making me laugh with her. Suddenly, I felt like all of my problems went away. "Do you believe in love at first sight, Jughead?" I gulped, scared of her question. "Not really." I lied, and I could see curiosity in her gaze. "Why not?" She asked, still showing interest in my crazy ideas. "Love isn't real." She gasped. "What do you mean love isn't real? You're one of them!" I laughed at her words. "What do you mean one of them?"
"You're one of those people who think they're too quirky to love." She spat. Now I laughed so loud I couldn't even realize she was laughing with me, the whole diner looking at us like we were crazy, but i couldn't care less. "You think I'm quirky?" I ask. "No. But I think you do." She smiled, proud of her answer. "I don't think I'm quirky. I just think love is something that doesn't last forever. It's ephemeral." I answer as honestly as I could be. "I'm sorry." She said.
"Why are you sorry?" Now I was the one with curiosity. "Because no one loved you just right." She answered. And I felt a little ache in my heart. "It's ok." There was this long silence. It wasn't awkward though, it just felt that no words needed to be said. Until she grabbed my phone and added her number.
"What did you do that for?" I ask. "Because I like you, Jughead." She answered back and left.
I've never seen Elizabeth in Riverdale before, and even if I wasn't social, and I know this because I would've realized her presence in the instant. She was alluring, her beauty was out of this world. Not just because of her looks, but the way she talked and expressed her ideas was extremely captivating.

I got out of the diner, still wet because of the rain, but my clothes were a little bit dry. I moved from new york and I was supposed to meet a friend at the airport but I guess she forgot to pick me up. So I sent her a text and she told me to meet her at the five seasons. I took a cab there, grabbing my phone waiting for a text from the boy I just met, by the little I knew him I guess he won't message me.
"It's alright" I sigh, knowing I shoot my shot. Even though sometimes I felt like I said something disrespectful toward him, he didn't even flinch. He took it normally and I really liked that. I really liked him. Then I remembered I asked him about love at first sight, and I felt a wave of embarrassment going through my body. Thank god he took it alright.
I arrived at my destiny and messaged Veronica, telling her I was downstairs. And I felt a vibration in my leg.
Unknown: Hi.
You: Who's this?
Unknown: We just met and you forgot about me already?
When I realize, I was smiling at the screen like an idiot. Crap. I thought, fading the smile i created.
You: Nuh huh. You won't escape this easily.
"That's kind of creepy to say," I thought when I got another message.
Uknown: I kind of realized that when you followed me at the bar.
I giggled.
You: How did you save me on contacts?
Unknown: Annoying blonde girl.
Unknown: How did you save me?
You: I haven't yet.
Unknown: Perfect. Now you can save me with "The most beautiful man I've ever laid eyes on."
You: I'll settle with "Jughead." What do you think?
Jughead: You're boring.
I laugh and turn off my phone to greet Veronica.
