Hi everyone,
This is my first maze runner imagine/story. I hope you'll like it 💛

My feet move slowly forward while I light up the path with my flashlight. " You know where that Marcus is, I hope?", Thomas asks. Brenda answers coolly: "Yes and so does Jorge, don't worry." For an hour already Thomas, Brenda and I, (y/n) have been walking through underground passageways looking for the gladers and Jorge. We lost them after the explosion. The ray of light shines brightly on Brenda's face. Even under a layer of dust, she's terribly handsome. From the first moment I saw her between the strapped cranks, she had felt attracted to her. Butterflies fill my belly. I would love to tell the scorch girl how I feel. No, this isn't the right time. Besides, Thomas is here and that makes me even more insecure. Suddenly there's a hollow thump. Thomas points his flashlight in the direction of the sound. Please don't say it's  a crank. Brenda gets scared and graps my hand and I feel less scared myself. After a few seconds a rat comes tripping out of the sewer pipe. What a relief. Too bad Brenda lets go of my hand. The animal walks on. A monstrous hand grabs it and tears the rat apart. A crank.

"Run!" , screams Thomas. We start racing. Behind me I hear several cranks chasing us. We sprint through the corridors. "There!" Brenda points to daylight in the distance. Once we get there, I almost crash. A huge abyss. Fortunately, Thomas is holding me back. "This way!", Brenda yells. To the right is a pile of rubble from a fallen building. "Are you sure?". "Yeah, come on." Brenda pulls me behind Thomas, who had already started climbing. The cranks storm out of the tunnel and clamber after us. The climb is tough, but I try to stay strong. It seems to be getting steeper and steeper. The cranks are only a few meters behind us. Brenda leads us through what used to be an apartment building and I try to follow as best I can. "come on!", calls Brenda. She grabs a deformed banister to pull herself up. In a split second, it breaks off and she falls down. "No!" I yell. But immediately I see she's stopped by a glass plate. "Brenda, are you okay?" Thomas shuffles to her through a vertical, steep chunk. I look around looking for the cranks. In the corners of my eye I see that little cracks appear everywhere on the glass when Brenda moves. Oh no, please not her.
