Episode 2

Jimin’s POV

It has already been three days after I’ve got a new mission from Kai. If he would just let me wait on when I’ll be reporting to my client might as well run away to Europe. But of course I don’t want to lose my job.

Kai gave me a brief background of my new assignment. Min Yoonji was rescued, by my team actually, from a kidnapping incident and some of its kidnappers were apprehended. The only problem is, some of them were able to escape and the mastermind is not yet arrested, causing Mrs Min to be scared for her child’s safety.

For the manhunt operation of those who escaped, Kai and my team will be handling it. And since I am still under ‘punishment’ I was chosen to be the girl’s bodyguard. It wasn’t supposed to be like that but the girl doesn’t want any of the bodyguards assigned to her and that I am already the eight bodyguard to be hired in just four days.

According to the files, Mr and Mrs Min have two children. The first born is currently abroad and managing some of their businesses there. It was also stated in the files that the kidnapping incident was an inside job.

While waiting for Kai’s call, I stayed at home enjoying the rest of my ‘vacation’. I am currently in front of my TV and is channel surfing when a news channel was reporting about the war that is happening in Lebanon.

Memories of my parents came rushing in. My parents are both in the elite forces of the country. My dad being a commander of a team and my mom being a military doctor. I grew up with them, always travelling around because of the deployment of my parents to different locations.

I learned so much from them that makes my job now a lot easier. I didn’t grow up like other children who were playing different kind of games outdoors with their friends.

I was only 8 years old when I learned how to use guns from my dad. When I turned 12, I already have a skill similar to that of a professional and can be compared to a sniper expert. My mom taught me different kinds of first aid and how to respond to different kind of medical condition in the field. My parents taught me everything they’ve learned like I’m some sort of a vessel.

Many people condoned my parents on how they’ve raised me, especially from the school. Judging them how could they teach a kid like me who was supposed to be enjoying my childhood those kinds of things. But unlike what they’re saying, I’ve enjoyed my childhood very much and they’re the greatest parents I could ever wish for.

When I finished my high school, I entered my mandatory military enlistment but after finishing it I continued to be in the profession and subsequently joined the academy of elite forces. Not to brag but, I graduated with flying colors and was promoted to a higher position. My parents and I were doing great in the military, not until they were killed six years ago.

My team and my parents’ team were supposed to be working together to be deployed in the borders but my superior send me and my team on the other coast. My parents’ team was ambushed resulting to their death.

After my parents’ death my superior decided for me to stay at the academy to train soon to be soldiers. But one day, a guy came to my office stating that he was a good friend of my parents, it was Kim Johyun. He stated that he made a promise with my parents that in case they were killed in action, Kim Johyun would come and persuade me to join his security agency. And now, I’m currently employed at BRAVE for five years.

My job may be exciting but it’s never easy, it was almost comparable to when I was in the military. The only benefit of being a field agent in BRAVE is that I get to meet different people and to travel at the same time.

I am now 27 years old, normal age of a person who is planning his family or is in a family. If I wanted to I could already have my family with the persons I’ve met, but unfortunately there’s a hindrance to it. I am gay. I do want to have a family but with the nature of my work I can’t help but to be afraid for my future family to lose me the same way I lost mine.
