The Parent Trap

  Bella Oxsternia and Alistair Kirkland were standing face to face. "The witch" had left while the boys were in Matthew's bedroom. Arthur had gone to his office to leave the two alone.

  "I see that Alfred is good..."

  Matthew is good also, and sweet.

  "I guess Alfred took after me instead of ya."

  Yes, and I loved every second. He's a good boy but a little rough at times. He also gets ideas in his head.

  "Like switching with Matthew."

  Bella nodded as Alistair went to the wine cooler. He was looking for a special wine, one that Bella had tasted before. He smirked as he found it and grabbed two glasses and sat them down. He watched as Bella's sparked when she saw the wine.

  Is that what I think it is?

  "One of last 1980 ordo, the same batch we had on our honey moon."

  That was 12 years ago.

  "Yeah... I guess I like to remember things."

  He poured the glasses and handed one to Bella. The blond sighed and pulled back some of her bangs. As she took a sip he couldn't help but remember when they first married. She was a singer in a bar that he worked at. They had fallen in love and got married, they went to his homeland of Scotland for their honeymoon.

  They had conceived the twins during that honey moon. Yet when the twins were born they grew apart. Bella had become ill after the twins, they found out that it as condition which made it hurtful for her talk or even sing. The twins were premature and were in and out of the hospital.

  This caused a rift between Alistair and Bella. He would be out all-night bars while Bella would stay with the twins. That was until one night he came home drunk and Bella had stayed up. They had gotten into a fight and he had left with Matthew. A few weeks later they divorced.

  Yer getting married.

  "Yes, and I feel happy about it." Alistair replied a smile on his face.

  Bella nodded and Alistair thought he saw sadness in her eyes. Before he could talk anymore she left to go to bed. Leaving him alone with the feelings of his ex-wife back in his life.
