Chapter 3: The Fight

(A/n: The students will forget how Ms. Yamada fights later on. For plot reasons)

Front of IS Academy, Monday 7:47 am

No ones POV

The prestigious IS Academy, famous for its world renown IS pilots, most of which teach there. Nearing the front gate is a black SUV with tinted windows and a ramming bar at the grill. It comes around and to a halt, stopping at the entrance to the Academy itself. The students entering the Academy in morning are curious of who occupies the transport.

The chauffeur gets out and opens the door, letting Adam(masked) step out and stretch, cracking a few bones in his back. He looks to his right and thanks the chauffeur for the ride, giving him a tip. Adam then grabs his bags from the trunk and closes it, telling the driver to head off. As the SUV heads away from the school, Adam turns his head left and sees Chifuyu approaching him with the same stoic look, but also slightly mad.

"I told you to be here almost 30 minutes ago! Where were you??" She yells, getting the attention of the students up and about

"I was in a traffic jam, there was nothing I could do about that.....and I still can't use my IS publicly. So don't give me the "you can use it" excuse!" Adam retorts, making her put her hand over her heart

"Mr. L-"

Adam grabs her neck, getting her closer to him. Chifuyu swears she smelt cologne, and saw anger in his eyes. The students had pulled out their phones, but they didn't work. But all saw the bloodlust emanating from him, and back away.

"Riker. My name is Adam Riker. Get. It. Right." Adam says menacingly quiet, gaining his bloodlust aura, but relents and lets her go, letting it recede

"R-Right, Mr. Riker. I'm sorry for my clumsiness" Chifuyu says lowly, as she bows to him

Adam does a 'tch' sound and looks over to female students. He sees that they have fear, but awe, in their eyes. He smirks, remembering what an old friend once told him.

Let your enemies be in fearful awe and your allies in salute. Bring the thunder and the pain. Never forget this, but never treat those who care for you with rudeness.

He then turns to Chifuyu and sees her still bowing. He then turns and feels a bit bad for being hard on her.

"I'm sorry for being rude Ms. Orimura, please forgive me." Adam says, bowing

Chifuyu catches this act and is surprised, but goes along with the act. He knows he's being watched, and he wants to 'apologize' so to speak. But she feels that he is also genuine, and feels bad for what he did. Her cheeks dust a light pink, and Adam sees this, but says nothing.

"Now, may you lead me, Ms. Orimura, to the headmaster, then to the arena? I made an oath, and I plan to keep it." Adam says, getting serious

"I'd love to, Mr. Riker. Right this way." Chifuyu says, her heart jumps in happiness for no reason

Timeskip to the arena

After speaking to the headmaster, Adam asked Chifuyu to host a live match for all students to see. Him vs another instructor for the right to step into the Academy walls. She got confirmation from the headmaster to host it, so she went ahead with the plans. Now, there is a hyped, but confused crowd.....until now.
