Amity woke up in a bed that was not her own. Her head hurt, and her side throbbed.
She tried to sit up, more pain shooting up through her at once making her wince. She layed back down and glanced around at her current surroundings to see where she was.
It seemed to Amity that she was in some sort of medical tent, given the amount of bandages and weird bottles that cluttered the folding table next to her.
That worried her. Witches don't use tents, let alone need medical supplies. Witches could just use healing and illusion magic for both of those. How long had she been out?
Her thoughts were cut short as the front of the tent started to open. Amity tried to sit up, again causing herself discomfort. She winced and looked to whoever opened the tent flap.
The first thing she noticed as the newcomer walked in had round ears.
It was a human.
Out of panic Amity attempted to scream, only to be met with a hand over her mouth, and brown eyes glaring into her own gold ones.
"Shhh your gonna give yourself away, you idiot!" The new voice hissed.
The hand lifted itself from over her face.
"Lay back down" the human spoke sternly.
"Who are you??" Amity asked.
"Just lay down. I'll answer your questions then." Amity didn't move.
"Atleast tell me your name then." The witching spoke as she glared at the human.
"My name is Luz, Luz Noceda. Now can you please lay down? I need to change your head and side bandages." Luz looked at the green haired witch slightly annoyed.
"Why should I listen to you? Your a human, why would I be so sure your not going to kill me the moment I lay my head back down?" Amity questioned.
"If I were going to kill you I would have done it already. You've been asleep for a good day now" She replied simply, chuckling slightly. That left the other girl wide eyed.
That's one question answered, she had been out for a day.
Grabbing some disinfectant and some new bandage's, Luz turned to the witchling. "Now lay down, I don't want your wounds to get infected." She said, pushing the young witches shoulders down to the bed.
Amity watched as the human took off the bandage around her head. Taking a moment to notice the girls features, Amity noticed Luz had brown hair that looked slightly grown out, brown eyes, and skin darker than her own, along with round ears, unlike her own pointed ones.
Luz grabbed some disinfectant next to her put it on a cloth of some sorts, and ran it over the left of the witches forehead. Amity winced as the cold liquid grazed the wound that lay there.
Luz then wrapped the head in new gauze, carefully as to not hurt the other more.
Then as the human moved to the green haired witches side, Amity realized that she wasn't wearing her uniform jacket, making her wonder where it disappeared off to.
Luz finished up disinfecting the side wound, and starting to wrap it. Both things earning a few winces and "ows" from the witching.
A few minutes later luz picked up a backpack and walked over to the chair in the far corner twords the tent flap. Amity eyed her jacket they lay neatly folded on the seat of it.
"If you don't want to get caught by the other humans here, I would suggest you get ready. We will need to get going by nightfall." Luz took the jacket off the chair gave it to it's owner.
"Why are you helping me?" Amity looked at the wall.
"What do you mean?" Luz said, grabbing an extra mini tent she had and some rations, putting them into a backpack.
"I mean, your a human and im a witch. You shouldn't help me, but you are. why?" Amity stared at Luz now.
"Because honestly this whole war is stupid. I don't get why humans and witches can't just get along, you know?" Luz put some medical supplies into her bag before zipping it shut and putting it on the chair the witches uniform was before.
Amity didnt question it as she attempted to put on her jacket, sharp pain traveling up her side.

Luz looked out of the tent as the sun set. By now it must have only the border patrol outside, probably just starting their rounds.
Luz grabbed the bag she packed hours prior and slung it over her shoulder.
"We gotta get going in a few minutes. Once patrol passes by, we'll leave." She told the golden eyed girl, listening for the footsteps of whoever was near.
Amity stayed quiet, as she grabbed 2 long metal pole things from next to her. She wasn't sure what they were, but shes pretty sure the human called them "Crutches" or something like that.
They didn't really make her any less light headed when moving, but it helped her side a little since she didn't need her foot down to use them, releiving the pressure a bit. It was the most she could really do right now, and it was better than nothing.
"Ready?" Luz looked back and the witch nodded. "Then let's go." She said, helping Amity out of the tent.
"Oh, one more thing!" The humans eyes lit up as she grabbed somthing from her bag. "Otter hat?" Luz offered it to the witch.
"Absolutely not." Amity shot her a look.
"Aw! Please? It's to cover your ears." Luz kept the hat our for her to take.
Amity hesitated before taking it and putting it on her head, making sure it covered her ears.
"Alright, follow me." Luz said before leading Amity out of the camp, and into the forest ahead.
