I woke up at 2 in the afternoon to my phone buzzing.. is my sleep schedule this messed up?! I looked down at my phone and my heart jumped.

I know this was supposed to be my time off during the day, but I honestly wanted a reason to see Vanessa again, even if it was just for an energy drink. I know that there's a convenience store right outside the entrance to the subway that I could go to before getting on. I slicked my hair into a ponytail, placing in some black barrettes and put on a pair of torn up jeans with black fishnets underneath them, a pair of black combat boots, and a Foo Fighters T-Shirt. I grabbed a small black backpack and I headed down to the subway station.

It was so busy at this time of day, it was a bit weird to see. I guess I was used to it always being empty in the middle of the night, it made me chuckle. I headed into the convenience store to be welcomed by a sweet elderly woman who was behind the counter. In the back of the store were a line of refrigerators with juices, caffeinated drinks, waters, and milks. I picked out a Cotton Candy Bang Energy for Vanessa and I decided to grab one for myself as well. I'm not much of a caffeine person but it would be interesting to try with her! When I went to the counter, I noticed a bag of Haribo Gummy bears near the register and I decided to grab them as well. Vanessa is always working so hard, it would be nice to put a smile on her pretty face.. wait.. pretty face?

My train of thought was cut off by the cashier that welcomed me earlier, "Are you ready to check out hun?" she said with a bit of a southern accent. I pulled myself back into reality and I nodded, handing her the items and pulling out my wallet. She made friendly conversation with me as I paid for my items but left me with a warning "Be careful if you're heading into the city today sweetheart, there was a murder earlier this morning on the streets.". I froze up at the news, but I tried to shake it off, assuring the woman I'd stay safe before placing the items in my backpack. I waved goodbye to her and headed on the next subway into the city.

Vanessa's POV:
It looks like the Prize area has cleared out for now.. thank god. Those kids are quite a lot to handle sometimes, and I'm still so exhausted from last night's shift. I smiled, looking down at my texts with Jenna, it felt nice to finally have a real companion. It's not that Glitchy isn't nice to have around, it's just that Jenna makes me feel a bit more normal. I feel a bit selfish asking for her to do something for me on her time off, but I'm a bit desperate right now.

While I waited for her to arrive, I spoke with Glitchy a bit. He seemed happy with my progress on befriending her and spoke on about how this'll help further our mission. What he was saying was nice, but I actually have been enjoying myself with Jenna and I no longer see it as a task. Everything with her seems so happy and joyful, it's a nice contrast to what I'm normally dealing with.

Suddenly, Jenna walked in with a sweet smile on her face.

I smiled back at her as she approached me, quite excited to see her. I've never seen her in anything besides her work attire, she looks quite great actually. It seems a bit like a casual grunge look? Regardless, I was loving her outfit. Suddenly, my Kuromi watch started beeping and my face lit up.
"Hey Jenna, it's actually time for my break. Do you want to take a walk around the city with me, if you don't mind? I'd love to get some fresh air."
Jenna nodded, agreeing to the adventure. We both headed out of the building and into the parking lot, with me leading the way. I started walking towards the outskirts of the town, wanting to show her my special place.

Jenna began making casual convo with me as we walked together, "Hey I love your bracelets by the way", pointing at my rows of kandi (multicolored bead bracelets). I was hoping she liked them, since I actually made her one at work earlier! I gently grasped her hand before pulling the bracelet out of my pocket, pulling it over her wrist and looking up at her "Do you like it? I made it for you during my free time at work!". Jenna had a bit of a goofy grin on face as she blushed, unable to hide her excitement.

"It's perfect Vanessa, thank you!"
