My Darkness- Chapter 14

Alcea POV

"I'll be waiting. You're the first person I want to see" I whispered and sighed preparing myself "It's finally over isn't it? I can return to the real world" I told him reassuringly.

I don't fully understand the situation, but bits and pieces are starting to come together.

"That's right. Let's go to all kinds of places and do all kinds of things" he said as I nodded "now then. It's all over now, isn't it? You're there, aren't you, Heathcliff" Kirito called.

"It's been a while, Kirito" he said as I looked up tears beginning to flow down my face.

Papa...

I slowly stood up as he held out a hand to me and Kirito just looked at the both of us.

"I am so sorry" he said as my tears were endless and then my body felt like it was on fire as I closed my eyes gently and began to feel myself float.

"Alcea! What are you doing to her" Kirito yelled but then noticed me smiling.

Kirito POV

"She's just resting. Her mind is adjusting to...all the memories you've shared" he answered as I softened my gaze at her but then looked back to him.

"So you're still alive" I asked.

"You could say I am, or you could say I'm not. I am an echo of the mind that was Akihiko Kayaba. An afterimage" he stated.

"As usual, you're not making much sense" I said as I saw Alcea trying to hold in her laughter "well, I guess I'll thank you."

She can still hear us though?

"No need for thanks" he said as I stared at him confused.

"Why" I asked.

"Our relationship isn't close that we'd exchange favors for free. There is a price always" he said in his regular serious tone, one which I'm used to.

"What do you want me to do" I questioned as Alceas began to glow a brilliant gold making me look away.

"What's going on" I panicked.

The light stopped and in between her breasts lay a small egg.

"The beginning of a world, 'the seed'. Once it sprouts you'll understand what it is. What to do then is up to you. You can delete and forget it, but then it'll also cost Alcea's life" he said softly.

Alcea's life? How?

"However, if you have any feelings for that world besides hatred..." he spoke giving a minute of silence.

"How is it connected to Alcea's life" I asked as he looked off into space.

"She's adopted. When I found her she was barely alive. I took her in and tried to do everything I could to save her, but ran too many experiments until I ended up somehow creating this" he said as the actual World Seed floated over her body "it's more transparent in virtual worlds. Without her, SAO wouldn't have been made."

Hearing those news made me inhale a sharp breath.

"She doesn't know what she's capable of though until she wakes up" he explained "As wielder of the World Seed you'll be able to control her now with that Skill. She chose you for this task. She will respect whatever decision you make" he said softly smiling down at her.

A new skill popped up in my notifications.

Control the World Seed... her. Never. She's not a thing.

"No. She's not meant to be controlled" I said sternly as I deleted the skill and he smiled "she can be free and do what she wants."

"Very well. I'll be going then. I hope we meet again Kirito" he spoke and kissed the top of Alcea's head as we were forcibly logged out.

Alcea POV

I opened my eyes to stare at the white ceiling and listened to the sound of the machines around me. I sat up and took out a wire that was injected in me which set off the machine. The sound made my ears ache as a headache formed, but they were immediately stopped and smashed. Electricity sparked around the broken hazardous parts.

I did that... I need to calm down.

I moved my legs over to the bed and used a chair that had wheels at the bottom to hold me up. I walked out the room and all the way to the front following the exit signs until I finally made my way to the snowy outdoors.

I held out my hand to catch the falling know. A bright clean white entity, that forever remains pure and untainted...

I noticed him up ahead and the scene froze me in spot. A man raced towards Kirito lunging at him with a knife causing Kirito to fall on his bloody injured arm.

"Hey! Stand up. Stand up" he continued to yell as he kicked his body "a piece of trash like you daring to... daring to get in Alcea and mines way-"

No...

The closest lamp to him shattered from how much power was being put into the bulb as some of the glass fell on Sugou and sparks of electricity blew at him. He began to panic and so he quickly searched for something in his pockets and then pulled out a gun making me gasp as I made my way over.

"WAIT" I yelled catching Sugou's attention as I quickly tried coming up for something "I thought you came not him" I pretended to wine as I ignored the cramps I started feeling in my legs "I'm really tired I came all the way out here to search for you Oberon."

Calling him by that name pleaded him as he desperately looked at me with obsessive eyes.

"My Titania you came for me" he cried as he reached for me.

"If you want I can end him for the both of us so you won't have to get your hands dirty" I said softly in a pleading way as I struggled to stand.

"You've finally come to your senses that I'm the only one for you" he said as he ran his hands through my hair and down my nightgown while he handed me the gun and I swiftly shot at him disgusted by his his filthy hands on my bare skin.

"You are not the one for me" I shouted as tears stung my eyes "did you really think after everything you did to me I will forgive you just like that?! What made you think that I would even want you" I yelled disgusted as I suddenly got this the wave of energy "you ruined my chances of quickly getting back to the real work! You made me forget about everything and everyone! Did you know that I've already had my memories erased before?! TWICE! You erased them for the THIRD time! You made me into your little doll! You locked me up inside a cage making me nothing! A soulless being-thing! You are the WORST!"

"ALCEA" Kirito yelled as I didn't tear my eyes away from Oberon he was crying dramatically as I pointed the gun at him "put the gun down! You've already hurt him! You shot him on the leg!"

"You need to know what it's like to have everything taken away from you including your life" I spat angrily filled with hatred.

"Alcea please! Don't do this" Kirito pleaded me to stop "you won't be able to come back from this."

"Don't tell me what to do Kirigaya" I replied angrily tightening my grip on the trigger.

"He put you through a lot! That's tru, but" he yelled "that doesn't mean you should end his life. Kayaba wouldn't want you to go down this path."

I once thought I don't have the right to take away people's life. Whatever happened to that?

"Stop telling me what to do! You don't even know what he would want! HE'S dead and I won't let you stop me from killing him even if he is my father!"

"B-But I love you Alcea" he said softly with his voice cracking as I stopped for a second to stare at him.

All this hatred... what is it doing to me? I was letting it take over and I could lose Kirito if I go down this hole. Under in real life is different than in virtual.

"ALCEA" Kirito yelled as the sound of a bullet echoed through the night sky while I was tackled to the ground.
