Leaves crunched under a heavy thud, making himself break into a run, ditching the basket in the moment. He swore he was hearing something give chase.
What did it want?
Was it going to kill him?≿━━━━༺❀༻━━━━≾
He didn't know where he was going, he simply knew he needed to get the hell out of this forest. He was right about something following up, they were right on his fucking tail. The thuds were loud and quick, it was something heavy and so much stronger than him.
His breath became quick and sharp as he ran for dear life. If only he collected more shit in the first place! This wouldn't have happened if he had, if only he just collected the right amount in the first place. He wouldn't have new bruises, he would have worried the old lady, and he definitely wouldn't be being chased by this thing!
He was angry with himself, his stupidly demanding father and definitely whatever was chasing him with a clear intent to kill. The air he drew in seemed to get colder, he knew he wouldn't he able to keep running forever. What could he do? What-
He got it.He slowed himself down a little and let the creature gain on him. The thuds didn't slow down, only seeming to speed up. He yelped when he felt fingers brushed against his shoulder, he quickly ducked and changed course sharply to the left, breaking into a faster run than before. He nearly cried with relief once he heard a struggle further behind him than before.
This was a human.
Was this an alpha looking for Omegean pray? A barbarian from the war?Either way, he wasn't going to stay to find out.
He kept his spring going, running and running even when his heart pounded in his ears, temporarily make him deaf, or when his stomach cramped like hell, when his lung seemed to want to burst and he didn't seem to get enough air, even when his legs screamed and cursed at it's owner to stop over exerting itself. He had no clue if that person was still chasing him, both from the fact he couldn't hear all that well and he didn't dare to stop and sniff the air for the scent that belonged to him. He just kept running, praying he outran whoever was enjoying his panic, praying to the gods to spare his life today so he may return the favor somehow.
"Thank the Gods!" His voice cracked in relief as he saw the wooden structures in view. He quickly dashed into the village like some sort of mad man, collapsing on the packed dirt ground. He panted for dear life and wished to kiss the ground but he was far to tired.
"Breathe boy!" The man ordered, he knew him. The town huntsman, oh wow. It seemed he had attracted the attention of many, forming a little crowd over his exhausted body.Midoriya gulped and went back to his loud, desperate panting, dashing his eyes between the villager's who looked at him with worry. The huntsman quickly pulled off his water jug and handed it to the omega who definitely needed it more than him. Midoriya grabbed the bottle and slammed it down purely from exhaustion, trying to catch his breath before chugging down some water.
He shakily sat himself up with thankfully the help of the same huntsman. The man was known to be the kindest around so his behavior wasn't odd at all, even if he was an alpha. Midoriya gulped again, noticing he was much more parched than he realised and reached for the jug he was handed so kindly to. He chugged it down gratefully, moaning with relief as that sweet water trickled down his dry throat.
"Woah there, careful now, you'll get sick." The huntsman tilted the jug down. Midoriya could care less, all he needed was the damn water but he drank slower in consideration of the worried villagers. His heart still pounded ferociously like a wild lion in a cage as his breath started to become steady.
"Mind telling us what got you all worked up Izuku?" He placed a hand on his hip and looked down at the poor little fellow.
"S.. Sorry.." He panted before moving on,
"Some... Something was'a- was chasing me, sir." He took the last drop of water from the jug, adding to his disappointment. A surprised murmur rippled through the mini crowd.
"Chasing you? What was chasing you?"
"A uh an Alpha I.. I think. I caught a whiff of his.. scent." He paled at the thought, he was so close from being taken or worse from an obviously larger, stronger alpha."An alpha? Was anyone else out in the forest?" The huntsman yelled louder and looked around. No one stepped up though, making the huntsman angrier. He may be a kind and gentle man but his temper was short.
"I swear of someone was just messing with him I'll rip you a new one. Step up already." He growled.
"I don't think it was someone we know.." Midoriya said quietly, out of fear of making him angrier, he's a good man, don't get me wrong, but anger just scared him."So there's some crazy alpha chasing poor ol' omegas.." He sighed and rubbed the arch of his nose.
"Alright people, keep your eyes peeled. Omegas stay in town with some eyes on them, we'll need all Alphas and strong Betas on patrol. I don't think we want another mistake, do we?" They nodded to themselves in agreement."You did great Izuku, thank to you we might have just avoided ourselves a real problem." He crouched down with a friendly smile and patted him on the back.
"I don't think you want to go home, want to come to my place?" He reached out his hand to help the exhausted omega up.
"S-Sure." He lifted his hand and grabbed it, hoisting himself- or rather the huntsman lifting him up with ease. He stumbled a bit but the Alpha helped him steady."Think you can walk?" Izuku nodded and steadied himself. The huntsman chuckled at the omega's resilience.
"You'll be way too sore tommorow." He patted his back knowingly and lead him to his house.≿━━━━༺❀༻━━━━≾
