"Normally, I'd have my deck, and I'd backboard this heavy 20 set, but tonight... we have company." Willie told us as we started to walk down some steps. "Hope you guys are ready for this."
"Wow." Alex exclaimed. "Are you guys seeing what I'm seeing?"
"I think we're a little overdressed." Luke stated. I frowned as I looked at our casual wear compared to the formal attire everybody else in the club was wearing.
"It's terrific." A woman then smiled as she and a man walked through me and Alex.
"Woah." I said.
"I thought these people were all going to be ghosts." Reggie told Willie.
"These are all lifers." Willie smiled.
"Oh, uh lifers are actually-" Alex began.
"Alive people. I was listening." Reggie told him.
"But this is a very exclusive crowd. Everybody here has, uh, paid a lot to get a sneak peek at the afterlife." Willie explained.
"I always knew rich people did weird stuff like this."
"Gentlemen... and the lady, I have a table for you." A foreign man in a white suit told us. "Right this way." He said before he took us to a table right in front of the stage.
The man walked away once we were seated and Luke leaned forward. "Okay, so who's gonna make us visible so we can confront our old bandmate?" He asked.
"Oh. None of these lifers have the power to do that." Willie said as the lights started to dim and a smile grew on Willie's face. "But here comes the ghost who does."
"Ladies and gentlemen, back from the dead by popular demand, please welcome Caleb Covington!" A man announced as music started to play. The crowd soon cheered and a man in a purple cloak appeared on stage.
"Did you miss me?" He asked. "I did too!... Welcome to the party of your dreams!... From the Egyptians to the Druids, to the person sitting next to you, we've all wondered, where do we go when that final light is snuffed out? All me to show you."
The man then began to sing before hundreds of dancers poofed in and joined him on the stage. I clapped along with the crowd and I noticed the boys smiling. Caleb was good. In fact, he was great. "Whoo!" I shouted when the performance was over and the crowd began to stand and clap.
"This is so cool." Reggie said.
"I knew I recognised him. He's the guy who bumped into me outside the Orpheum." Alex told us.
"Wait. Isn't he that magician dude that died a horrible death doing a trick?" Reggie asked.
"Yeah, I wouldn't really bring that up when we meet him." I said.
"Yeah, but you guys should come back when he shows one of his movies. I mean, for Titanic, he literally floors the entire place." Willie exclaimed. "I mean, the guy has got skills."
"Alright, but can he wave his arms and make ghosts viable to lifers?" Luke questioned.
"Told you. The guys got skills."
"So where'd he go?" I asked.
"Oh, wow! Found him!" Reggie shouted as he jumped at the sight of the man standing beside him.
"Hello, boys and girl. Caleb Covington." The man said. "Welcome to the Hollywood Ghost Club. Enjoying the show?"
"Yo, that was... I mean... did you... like...." Luke said, baffled.
