No one's POV

At this point, time was no longer a concept that the the roommates were familiar with. Working at home, work ending, sleeping, eating, and not leaving the house. During the COVID virus everything has gone haywire and off the tracks. As the days went on, Inosuke and Tanjiro were losing their patience, longing for the moment when this obnoxious quarantine would finally be over.

The burgundy-haired male steps out of his bedroom to greet the other resident in the dorm. Their college didn't send them home unlike many others. A lot of students had the choice, Tanjiro and Inosuke decided to both stay because they really didn't have anywhere else to go. Plus sharing the bills is easier.

"Good morning.." Tanjiro grumbles, stretching his arms out so he doesn't feel so sticky and tight.

"It's hardly the time to say good morning." The blue-tipped male scowled and pointed to the clock on his phone, raising it up for the other male to see.

Inosuke's pupils dilate a small amount as he sees his crush, his faces becomes enveloped in warmth before it dies down.

"Ah, good afternoon then." Tanjiro sighed after reading the time, which was 2PM, and making his way to the small, scratchy, and worn couch. Tanjiro's eyes wandering the room to avoid eye contact with Inosuke's beautiful eyes.

Inosuke grabs the remote swiftly from the cushion next to him as the other male throws himself over the back. They both sigh loudly and Tanjiro pulls his new phone out of his rather large pocket. A loud bang from above them breaks the momentary silence; however, both males aren't bothered by this wonted occurrence. Their eyes made contact briefly, Tanjiro's head whips around, hoping to not reveal anything.

Inosuke places the remote down on the arm of the off-colored sofa and crosses his legs, continuing what he was doing before the redhead interrupted him.

"What do you wanna eat? I'm starving!" Tanjiro says, interluding again.

A rush of happiness courses through Inosuke's body, hearing Tanjiro's kind voice normal rather than coarse from tiredness.

"Uh.. I dunno I just had an onigiri rice ball. There's one left in the fridge if you want it.." Inosuke sighs, rather calmly in contrast to his usual chaotic personality.

Quarantine had changed both of them, for better or for worse hadn't been decided just quite yet.

Inosuke and Tanjiro have both had a crush on each other for a long time, but with classes and friends to distract them it was easier to ignore their feelings. Not that they've been stuck in a small dorm together for months, it's driving them both mad.

Tanjiro stands up slowly, sauntering his way to the kitchen. Inosuke rips his eyes away from his phone screen to watch how elegantly Tanjiro carries himself. He gulps slightly and looks back down at his phone, trying not to stare. He hears the fridge click open and hears the shuffling of bags then the door shutting again.

He can feel the gentle thuds of Tanjiro's footsteps and then the sound of cushions being pressed underneath some weight, then feeling his own weight being shifted.

He lifts his head again and sees Tanjiro holding the rice ball carefully and then taking a bite, chewing slowly with his cheeks full of rice. Tanjiro's face twists in confusion as he scrolls through his phone.

"Hm.." Tanjiro hums under his breath.

"What?" Inosuke breathes out, caught off-guard by his own roommate's beauty.

Tanjiro's red hair had fallen over his forehead, his rectangular earrings dangling beautifully over his shoulders. Tanjiro's scar glistened in the light coming from the ceiling, his eyes soft with kindness, but still sharp enough to be taken seriously.

Inosuke stares at Tanjiro, fascinated by all of his features. Before he realizes, he finds himself leaning forward, his feminine face just centimeters away from Tanjiro's soft hair. His pale hand reaches toward his chin, caught up in his imagination.

"Eh?" Tanjiro questions a tad bit too harshly than he wanted. He looks at Inosuke with a confused look.

Inosuke confuses his curiosity for disgust and anger.

"Oh- u-uh. Nothing!" Inosuke shouts unnecessarily loudly, voice cracking a little bit at the end.

Tanjiro looks away before walking away, heart shattered a little bit from how he probably just ruined a moment. Tanjiro's eyebrows before leaving were furrowed with anger, but not for Inosuke. Inosuke mentally screaming at himself for being such an idiot. He probably just ruined his friendship with his best friend, and he doesn't really know what to do.

He stands up and sprints to his room, holding back tears, his chest screaming at him to just breathe and calm down. He shuts his door softly and locks it, as to not alarm Tanjiro.

His hands smack himself into face before he throws himself onto his large, plush bed. His arms wrap around his abdomen, as if trying to hold himself together. He sobs a little louder than he wanted. He continues crying, not caring who hears him, his sobs and tears slowly turn to noiseless screams in his pillows.

He hears a knock on his door, and Inosuke tries to compose himself as he stands up, legs wobbly from such intense emotion. He wipes his tears from his shiny eyes, not able to hide how puffy and red they were.

He opens the door a little to Tanjiro's concerned face.

"Are you okay?" Tanjiro questions hesitantly.

Inosuke nods his head, an obvious lie.

"I'm fine, it's nothing." He lies through his teeth, voice strained from the sobs, and screaming.

Tanjiro steps forward and slams the door open, hugging Inosuke tightly. Tanjiro pulls away a little and looks into Inosuke's eyes.

Inosuke shoves his head away, before being caught by a pair of rough hands reaching around him.

Inosuke's face becomes dazed as his stomach is twisted in a feeling he's felt many times before. Tanjiro's bright eyes staring into his sends a feeling similar to butterflies inside of him, instead of softly swarming it feels like they're trashing, trying to claw their way out almost painfully.

Tanjiro raises a single brow to Inosuke's flushed face, beat red in confusion and fluster.

Inosuke lowers his hands down his own knees, clenching tightly. Inosuke's lips pout, he doesn't know why, but Tanjiro's heart beats deafeningly against his rib cage, wanting to wrap itself around Inosuke's softened face.

Tanjiro gravitates toward Inosuke, like light to a black hole, being sucked in by an immeasurably strong force. Inosuke's lips quiver, plump and a healthy pink. Tanjiro closes his eyes and he tilts his head slightly to the side and connects their lips sweetly.

Both of the 19-year-old boys' hearts skip a beat, and quicken faster than a cheetah's legs can move. When their lips disconnect, a sweet sound is made. Nothing dirty, simply pleasing and sweet.

Inosuke's bright emerald eyes are wide, his lips are slightly parted with a pink haze dusting his soft cheeks. Tanjiro's arms are both now wrapped around Inosuke's pale neck.

Tanjiro leans in next to Inosuke's flushed ear, a smile being heard in his gentle voice.

"I love you."

Inosuke's heart skips another beat before his clenched fists fly up, unraveling and flying around Tanjiro's nape. His breath now becoming uneven from happiness and tears flowing down his cheeks.

"M-Me too." He breathes out.

Tanjiro's hands move and ruffle Inosuke's long hair.

Tanjiro kisses Inosuke sweetly again, not a single hint of lust tracing their lips as their lips disconnect the reconnect.

Just love.
