Once I get to school, I take off my helmet and stash it in my locker along with my skateboard and backpack. Then I grab my binder and head to class.

Luckily I don't see Luc throughout my morning periods, but I realize that he probably goes to high school like Jake which is farther up ahead.

At last, it's lunch and I sit and talk with my friend Tomika.

"So, are you finally going to do it?" she asks.

"Do what?" I reply.

"You know, frisbee? You've wanted to try out since you were like, four," she points out.

"Well..." I say trying to find an excuse for why I can't try out this year, but ultimately, failing. I nervously take my two sporks and bang them on the table, the steady badums comforting me.

"Just do it!" Tomika says, trying to be encouraging.

I consider it for a few seconds but decide to do it. "Sure, why not? It'll give me something to do instead of sitting around with Luc," I roll my eyes.

"Y'know Tara," Tomika says while munching on a cookie, "he really doesn't seem as bad as you say he is."

"Oh, he IS," I say just as the lunch bell rings.

I dump my trash and head to my last few classes.

Finally, after what felt like years it's last period. As the class settles down, the teacher begins making an announcement.

"This year there is a free spot on the town frisbee team. Anyone interested may come up and grab a flyer from my desk."

He looks around and it appears that no one wants one.

"Nobody? Ok then," he says as he puts the papers away.

"Wait!" I speak up, "I'd like one."

The teacher grabs one off the top of the stack and walks over to hand it to me. "Here you go, Tara. And next time, don't wait so long to speak up!" he chides.

For the next 45 minutes, he babbles on about who knows what until finally it's time to go. I quickly stuff the flyer in my backpack and head to my locker to grab my things.
