Sophie's POV

I was falling.

I was going to teleport to Alluveterre to visit Wonder, who had recently been banished from the Lost Cities because of her strange tendency to kill vacuums.

It scared me a bit...

But all of my friends wanted me to check up on her, and I couldn't exactly tell them that...

So there I was. In the void. Teleporting to Aluveterre. Sighhh.

I brought up a mental picture of Aluveterre in my mind, my photographic memory capturing every detail, and pushed it out into the void.

Nothing happened.

I started freaking out. This had only happened one other time when I was with Keefe teleporting to the Sanctuary-

And then I remembered.

"I can't teleport through solid things!" I said aloud to myself, shaking my head as I remembered that Aluveterre was underground. I tried to remember what Keefe said to do last time. Go home? After thinking about that word, home, a mental picture popped up, and I instinctively shoved it out into the void.

Alden's POV

I was out for a walk, admiring the plants and the sun. My eye caught a particular golden-brown flower, and my mind immediately drifted to Sophie.

Sophie.

The love of my life.

I used to think that was Della, but not anymore. We both knew our relationship was falling apart. I thought about her beautiful gold-flecked brown eyes, and her soft, silky blond hair. She was my angel dropped from heaven, my-

I felt something crash on top of me.

Or, rather, someone.

I looked up and saw Sophie on my chest, her face only an inch or two away from mine.

She really was my angel dropped from heaven!

Sophie's POV

I fell on top of something warm.

I looked down, and saw a beautiful face, with vibrant teal eyes and blushing cheeks. Alden. The love of my life.

Wait-

Was he blushing?

I quickly scrambled off of him and held out my hand to help him up, trying not to think about how handsome he looked when he blushed. Trying not to think about how his red cheeks perfectly matched his teal eyes, and-

"Sophie, what- why did you- I don't- huh?" Alden stuttered out as he got up from the ground, wiping the grass off of his pants.

"O-oh, sorry! I messed up your outfit!" I said, tugging a loose eyelash out. "Oh, and I was, um..." I tried to think of a reason because I couldn't just tell him I thought of Everglen, I thought of him, home!

"I was, um..., I wanted to see if Biana wanted to hang out?" I said nervously, tugging at a few more eyelashes.

He smiled his handsome smile, the crinkles by his eyes accentuating them even more. And his smile- his smile! It was the most amazing thing I have ever seen. I just wanted to kiss him-

"Biana is in her room. Why don't you head on up?"

"O-ok." I waved at Alden and headed on up, disappointed that I had to leave him.

After I reached Biana's door, all the while daydreaming about Alden, I knocked. A few seconds after, Biana opened the door. She squealed after she saw me.

"Sophie!!! It's so good to see you!!! How was your trip to Aluveterre?" She asked as she invited me in.

"I couldn't go. It's underground."

"Oh, that's too bad. We'll have to find another way to visit Wonder. Anyway- wait, why are your clothes all dirty?"

I tugged at an eyelash, hoping she wouldn't ask for the WHOLE story. I definitely didn't want to tell her that I fell on Alden. "Um... I fell in the grass... teleporting here." I mean, I didn't lie! I just didn't tell the whole story!

"Oh, okay. Well, you know what that means! MAKEOVER TIME!!!"
