"We had a few drinks, she passed out, woke up and started acting all crazy. She was yelling. She went into my kitchen, grabbed a knife and then stabbed me. That's when I called 911."

I couldn't believe how he was just lying to everyone in the courtroom. The Jury seemed sceptical.

"Attention to the Jury, if you look in your evidence log you will find that there were not drugs or alcohol found in either party's system. Medical examiners suggests that Ms. Meyers was indeed unconscious, but it was due to blunt force trauma to the head, leaving a laceration."

I began to grow hopeful. Ian's walls we're starting crack. Soon, they would fall completely. Dr. Murphy began speaking again.

"As the prosecution said, there was no DNA found on Ms. Meyers is true, medical examiners found Mr, Sommers' DNA inside of her. Her rape kit came back positive, evidence on page twenty three in your logs." He told the Jury. "As far as the taillight and the paint, security footage caught Mr. Sommer's going into this automotive store at nine o' eight pm and returning to his car at nine twenty two. The footage also shows white hand prints and red duct tape over the left taillight."

I could see the sweat on Ian's forehead as the images flashed on the protector beside him for all to see. I grew impatient. I could almost taste my freedom.

"Here, in my hand is the receipt for one left taillight that matched the model of the description of his car." An image of the receipt was shown on screen. "If you look here," a picture of Ian's trunk showed. "- this is the inside of the trunk where paint residue match the one under Ms. Meyers' fingernails were was found."

More pictures of small paint droplets flashed. Documents about what was found on my body were shown as well.

"And lastly, although Kaitlyn Scott is making her recovery and not able to be here today, this video was found on her phone right before her crash."

My heart pounded. She was alive and she recorded it!

Sounds of a car we're heard the speakers in the courtroom. Kates voice began to shout. "Fuck, A.J! Don't worry, I'm coming!"

She zoomed in on the back of Ian's car as she sped after him. "Q806294." She read the license plate. "The headlight is coming off! There's her hand."

I could see my hand waving out of the small hole and pounding on the back of the car. My hand went back in the hole and emerged seconds later covered in paint.

"Oh, good! She-she's leaving hand prints. You're so smart, you can do this!"

I started to tear up. She was always so supportive of me. No matter what I did. I saw that the video only had a few seconds left and I knew what was coming. A loud sound of another car engine was heard  coming closer. I closed my eyes as the sound of metal on metal filled the room. The video ended.

"Your honour, no further questions." Dr. Murphy smiled and sat down.

I looked over to Ian. He was making his way over to his lawyer. He pounded his fists on the desk. "I made her stab me for nothing! You're useless!"

The room went quiet and the Judge turned to the Jury. "You have a two hour recess to reach your verdict." She stood up and walked back unit her chambers. The Jury followed suit.

My head fell back on the chair. I let out the deepest breath I've ever held in. I smiled at the sound of my mother happily chatting with Ronnie. I looked over to them.

My brother had the biggest smile on his face. He was furiously pointing at Ronnie. He was mouthing something excitedly but I couldn't tell. I just shrugged my shoulders and smiled. He would surely tell me later. I looked to my aunt who was chatting away with some stranger. She always does that anywhere she goes. She could talk to anyone about anything. I finally saw my mom and Ronnie. He was telling her something and it looked intense. She was looking at him in adoration as he spoke. I couldn't help but smile. She loves him already.

I sat in my chair and chatted with my lawyer as he scribbled down notes. "They should be coming back any minute. This'll be the best turnaround the Judicial System has had in years." He smiled at me.

Right in time, the doors at the back of the room opened. The Jury walked in with the Judge behind them. They all took their seats. One turned her head to me and smiled. I could feel it getting closer.
