Chapter 3 Troublesome Trio

Kaori and Saki were just taking their breaks when they saw the group talking to Youko and ordering food. Youko flagged the girls over when Yosuke mentioned them, and then put up her sign saying she was going on break too after she collected what money she could squeeze out of Yosuke and gave him the food for him and his friends.

They all sat at a table in the food court to talk for a bit, though Saki was definitely kind of out of it today.

“These three are never apart if they can help it.” Yosuke said with a laugh as he introduced them to Chie and Yu.

“You just met Youko. She’s kinda scary sometimes, but she’s dependable. If she says she’s going to do something, she’ll do it. She’s kind of motherly at ti-”

“I’m going to hurt you.”

“Moving on!” Yosuke said with a panicked voiced and there was a soft thud under the table. She kicked him most likely, but was blushing at being called motherly.

“This is Kaori. She helps me study from time to time and helps out here a lot. She also has like a million brothers. I feel like one of them sometimes.”

Kaori objected a little. “Really? I don’t treat you like one of them…” And she definitely didn’t want him thinking that she thought of him that way…

“And this is Saki Konishi. She was one of the first people I met here and she’s been a big help getting me all settled in. Together they’re the Honorable Senpais!”

He looked so proud of the name he’d come up with for them.

“Haha, Hana-chan.” Saki said smiling a bit. It was clearly a fake smile, and Youko and Kaori knew it instantly but they didn’t say anything and just kept on smiling too.

“Enough about us. You’re the new student right? Has Hana-chan been giving you too much trouble? He’s a nice guy but sometimes you just gotta tell him to relax.”

“Hey hey! I’m not that bad right?”

“Haha, I was just teasing!” She said somewhat cheerfully and then she grumbled a bit.

“I wish I hadn’t left early yesterday.”

Youko’s expression changed to a bit more serious face and she stood up and went over to Saki.

“Hey Saki, we shouldn’t waste our lunch break sitting around here. Let’s go grab some cream puffs before we have to go back to being slaves for the prince.” She grinned and Yosuke got all flustery about it. Kaori got up too, only proving what Yosuke had said. They really were always together.

“I’ll go too! I love cream puffs. Anyway, it was nice meeting you Yu. You too Chie.” She waved with both hands a bit cutely since Youko had already taken Saki’s hand and was leading her off to get cream puffs.

The girls had just bought a set of them to share when the young cop from yesterday saw them and perked up, walking over to them.

“Hey girls! You’re the three from the other day right? Dojima said you’re the troublesome trio around here. I was just looking for you ladies.”

Youko looked up as she took a bite of their newly purchased goodies.

“...Oh.” She wiped her face. “Hey squeams.”

“Squeams?” He looked offended and then just kinda laughed it off.

“Yeah, I guess I am kind of squeamish. Either way, Saki we have a few more questions for you. I was hoping you could come to the station today.”

“Some more?” She thought a bit. “I can come. Sure. I’m at work right now though. Is it okay if I come by when I get off?”

She didn’t want to say no and get in trouble or something. That was Youko line of work, and the other two apparently were associated with it.
