"Thanks for bringin' in those buckets, Georgia!
"Yeah! We really appreciate all the work you do 'round here!"Rich and the other stagehands complimented me.
"Oh there's no need to thank me."I waved them off."I like how you all give me somethin' to do when I'm not singin'!"I smiled warmly.
"Speakin' of singin'. Would you mind?"Mollie, a bright-eyed female stagehand asked playfully batting her long lashes."Just a little somethin' w-while we work of course."I blushed a bit when everyone began to roar in agreement.
"No no. I really should be movin' along and um findin' someone else to help. Really."I smiled shyly placin' my hands behind my small back.
"Please, Georgia!"They all began to beg. They were eventually causin' an uproar so I went ahead and calmed them down by placin' one of my fingers up in the air and whisperin'."...One little verse and that's it! We all need to get back to work!"I chuckled and then cleared my throat."Any requests?"
"Oh, cmon Georgia you know our favorite one!"
"Yeah! Yeah! You know the one!"Rich smiled and glanced at the others. I calmed them down once more then nodded and straightened my poster. I began to tap my foot.

"Every night I hope and pray,
A dream lover will come my way,
A girl to hold in my arms,
And know the magic of her charms,
'Cause I want,
A girl,
To call,
My own,
I want a dream lover,
So I don't have to dream...alone."

I got a quaint applause from the group and I thanked them for listenin' to me. Then I told them to get back to work so they could finish on time.
"My oh my!" Someone said with immense enthusiasm." I don't think I've ever heard a voice such as that in my entire life!"I heard a strange yet familiar manly voice. I spun around to see that Marlon character once again. When he stepped closer I stepped back more towards the group. Eventually Rich shot up and stood firm in front of me. Then Eugene hopped off the stage and did the same.
"Georgia what's going on here?"Eugene asked cautiously while holdin' my shoulder.
"I-I don't really know yet," I said confused.
"Is there a problem sir?"Rich asked Marlon.
"Problem? Why not at all!"He said with charm."I just wanted to know who that beautiful voice belonged to."He looked at me with a gleam in his dark eyes. I glanced back but soon looked away.
"Alright sir well now you know. So I suggest you get back to whatever you were doin', please."Eugene slowly nodded.
"I'm sorry if you thought I had ill intentions."He put his hands up. "I'll see you around then? Georgia."He spoke softly and went about his way. Eugene and Rich quickly spun around and confronted me about my relations with that strange man.
   "I don't know him. I swear!"I pleaded.
"Well what do you have to say about him knowin' your name then huh?!"Rich interrogated me.
   "I don't know that either! He's a looney!"
"Well I think he's dreamy."Mollie swooned with her chin in the palm of her hand.
"Well I think he's a load of horse—!"
"—What do you all think you're doing?"Mrs.O'Hare strolled her way over to our area.
"Um, nothing Mrs.O'Hare!"Mollie said with gilt. The manager smirked and said.
"Are you sure? Because I could have sworn you all were talkin' about that dream boat Mr. Brando."She chuckled playfully."Well I can tell you all this he has the part for Prince Charming in our latest play. So you all will be seeing a lot more of him around here."
Thats right. We were performing Cinderella just next month. Things move real quick 'round here.
"Just wonderful."I rolled my eyes and got a little slap on the shoulder from Mollie.
"Mhm!"Mrs.O'Hare continued."And he can sing too! So we got real lucky on this one. He looks like he belongs in Hollywood not New York City! So you all better be nice to him so he doesn't leave us any time soon!"She joked."Now all of you get back to work!"
   "Yes ma'am!"They chanted.
"Except for you, Georgia."She curls her finger towards me."It's time for you to put those pipes to good use today. Go ahead and start your warm ups backstage."
   "Yes ma'am."I smiled with content.

"They call me Betty."She gracefully stuck her hand out for Marlon to take. He kindly took it and gave it a kiss.
   "Well it's a pleasure, Betty."He sang playfully.
I kept quiet behind the curtain as I listened to the two of them talk once the practicin' was over. I should be happy that he does in fact treat every kind of woman this way. After all that is how a gentleman should be. However I have to admit that if someone saw me that would think I was jealously eavesdroppin'. That isn't true though. In fact I'm just waitin' here to hold the ropes for Mollie backstage.
"I should have known Betty would have gotten to him first!"Mollie whined quietly as she put the sand sack down. I bent down to tie the rope to it and then complained to her about how annoyin' and strange the man was.
"Besides, need I remind you that segregation is still a thing?!"I snapped.
"Sure, but do you think I still, you know, had a chance? Even a little?"Mollie swooned with hope as she poked her head out of the red curtains to spy on the two.
"What are you to sisters goin' on about?"Eugene finally showed up backstage. I quickly yanked her away and told her it was time to go home.
