"Travers?"
The sound of her name echoed while she tried to focus.
Her surroundings slowly became clear and she lifted her head from her stack of parchment. A single piece sticking to her cheek.
She grabbed it and looked at it confused. It was her History of Magic homework.
Did she dose off?
It had been quite an early start this morning.
The first thing she did after breakfast was head to the library.
Also, the fact that it was History of Magic homework probably had a part in her being bored to sleep.
When someone harshly cleared their throat, she looked up.
"What are you doing here, Nott." She sighed.
He took a seat across from her before spreading out his homework.
"Caught you slacking." He said, a satisfied smirk dancing on his lips.
"I don't slack." She mumbled before brushing her hand through her hair.
"I need your help." Theodore said, picking at the edge of his Transfiguration textbook.
Claire sighed deeply.
"I don't have time." She lied, quickly organizing her parchment.
"Please. I can't figure out these questions." He shoved his notes towards her, his eyes desperately searching hers.
Claire looked at his messy handwriting and couldn't help but pity him.
She knew that he had always struggled with Transfiguration and in the past, she helped him more than once.
She quickly read the first two questions.
'Question 1: What are the dangers of human Transfiguration?'
'Getting stuck'
Nott had answered.
'Question 2: Which natural abilities are replicated by human Transfiguration?'
'Metamo?? Animagus?'
Without a word, she grabbed her Transfiguration book.
Theo's eyes lit up and he grabbed his parchment again, rereading his answers.
"Go to chapter 2." She instructed and he quickly followed, switching between pages.
"Now read the first bit."
Nott didn't complain and did as he was told.
"Oh! Here it says that Human Transfiguration can be used to essentially replicate the natural abilities of Metamorphmagi." Theo read aloud.
"I was close." He grinned and looked up to see Claire packing up her books and parchment.
"Wait! I have more question-"
"Read." Claire repeated emotionless but a little louder now before adjusting the bag strap on her shoulder.
Without another word she exited the library, leaving a stunned Nott behind.
He watched her pass the rows of books. Her dark hair swinging with every step.
Nott got up from his seat and walked back to the table where he was originally seated, Zabini and Malfoy still quietly working.
