"I'll do it!" Theo called out.

He made an abrupt stop and turned around, facing Daphne and Draco.

"O-Okay." Daphne stuttered but Theo had already walked past her.

Her eyes slowly turned to Draco, who silently watched as Nott entered the common room again.

Pansy loudly scoffed before nudging Blaise to keep walking with her.

Nobody but Daphne seemed to notice how Draco watched Theo until his very last step into the common room.

She regretted talking so loud because her words were only for the person next to her to hear.

Her eyes met Draco's when Theodore had disappeared out of sight and his blank expression changed into a disgusted one.

"What?" He spat but gave her no time to respond.

He straightened his back and continued making his way to the great hall.

Daphne tried to hide her surprised expression and followed him, the smell of food washing away her worries from before.

While the four friends took their seats on the Slytherin table, Theo had successfully made his way to the staircase.

He wouldn't be able to actually go up to the girl's dormitories, the stairs would simply disappear and he'd slide right off.

Since all of the students were at the great hall already, he cleared his throat, ready to call her name.

"Claire! Cla- Oh."

On his second attempt, he was interrupted by Claire herself, who slowly stepped down on the stairs.

"Go away." She muttered, her face sour.

"Oh come on! I didn't intend to make the Hufflepuff stumble like that." He protested.

He quickened his pace and left the common room with her.

Claire had told herself earlier that Theodore simply wasn't worth it so she kept her mouth shut.

The sound of their shoes was the only sound heard as the smell of food got stronger.

"What is going on with you?" Theo had mustered up the courage to ask her that question but to Claire, it seemed very blunt.

She looked at him for a second but she kept her promise to herself and kept walking until Theo grabbed her arm.

"Don't touch me." She hissed and harshly yanked her arm out of his grasp.

Theo looked at her in disbelief.

The way she had almost flinched at his touch made his heart drop.

This wasn't how things used to be and he couldn't accept that.

"Why?" He reached out for her again but she quickly stepped back.

"Leave me alone." She said sternly.

The hunger she had felt earlier had disappeared.

"Fine." He gave in and walked away from her.

She watched as he balled his fist before disappearing behind the big doors that held the Great Hall.

Theo hurried over to his friends and the food appeared before them the second he sat down.

His cheeks were flushed slightly and he regretted being the one to go look for Claire.

Nobody said anything but their eyes spoke volumes.

"She didn't come down." Theo lied straight through his teeth.
