CHAPTER SIXTEEN ➳ ELLIE & FRED.

The next day came sooner than expected, the whole gang waking up at a reasonable hour. Considering that it was Christmas eve, there was no doubt in mind that the group was excited for the next day to come, similar to that of children. Saff and Rhianna woke up raring to go, the platinum blonde playing her Christmas music vinyl as Saff threw on her quidditch hoodie, brushing through her bushy hair. The Grangers were always known for their mop, the matted curls being an iconic staple among them.

"So you're saying that you have zero idea where Ellie went?" the Malfoy asked in a confused manner, tightening up her platinum blonde ponytail.

Jingle Bell Rock played quietly in the background, Saff now cleaning her glasses whilst looking in the mirror. "No clue. Over the four years we've known her, I wasn't aware that she was a sleepwalker."

"Let's be real, she probably woke up early to make breakfast for us all."

"It's still suspicious. . . I'm going to check around, are the twins up yet?" Saff muttered, placing her glasses frames upon the bridge of her nose.

Rhianna paused, reaching down to grab her record. Slowly but surely, she moved the needle from the vinyl disk, being careful not to scratch it. With a quick flip of her hand, she turned the record upside down, placing the needle on once again and pressing the on button. Rocking Around The Christmas Tree now played, Rhianna now tying her shoes.

"George told me last night, he wants to meet this morning to help collect logs for the living room fire." She explains. "We've got so much to do for this party tonight. . . where are the decorations."

"The cupboard in Fred's room, I think Molly sent them to us as a gift." Saff explained, stretching slightly. "You want me to go and get them? I'll wake that lazy little shit up whilst I'm there."

Rhianna snorted at the comment, turning to her best friend and nodding. "Yes! Then after that, we can find Ellie."

The two agreed, Rhianna hanging back in her dorm for a few more minutes whilst Saff went on a hunt to find their younger friend. Hogwarts was familiar at this rate, the Slytherin knowing her way around the school pretty well. The way to Fred's room was just a quick left from their own, going up one flight of stairs before entering the mahogany door.

She was almost there, until something got in the way. Or should she say. . . someone. Looking up from the floor, her head collided with a taller shoulder, the girl thudding in a dramatic manner. Her hand rested upon her forehead, the brunette looking up desperately to catch a glance at who the culprit was.

And of course. . . God had to make things interesting like always, the figure she bumped into being none other than the boy she found most confusing. Cedric huffed before seeing her, his blue eyes softening instantly at the sight of the girl he had grown so close to. He held a hand up defensively, cringing at seeing Saff hurt.

"Oh god–" he gasped, his hand instantly moving to place on top of the Slytherin's smaller ones. "Are you okay? Do you need an ice pack–"

"No I don't need a fucking ice pack. . . I'm fine, Ced." She played it off cool, even though she was quite the weakling. She was only 5ft 5, the smallest collision toppling her over. . . and breaking her glasses. "I think my frames got more of a death sentence than me."

Cedric sighed, feeling guilty. Whenever he was around the girl, the boy always tried his best to make her happy. This caring nature was always apparent, but around Saff? That golden boy attitude increased by double. He pulled out his wand, the flick of his wrist seemingly effortless as his words spoke in a soft tone. "Oculus Reparo."."
