My World

Chapter 8

Brittany was finishing getting ready and couldn't wait for Santana to pick her up for their date. She knew it had to be special because Santana wouldn't stop talking about how Brittany was going to have an amazing time. Britt had no doubt she was right because any time with Santana at all is magical. 

As Santana drove to Brittany's house, she called some dude who was helping her with the date to make sure everything was set.

"Hey, Josh. I just want to make sure everything is ready. I'll be there in about an hour."

"Yes, Ms. Lopez. You and your girlfriend will have a lovely night, I am sure of it."

"Thank you so much, Josh, I'll see you soon."

With that, Santana hung up the phone right as she arrived at the Pierce's house. She got out of the car and walked to the front door. 

Knock knock knock

A short blonde answered the door.

"Sanny!"

"Hey pumpkin. What are you up to?"

"I'm practicing for my dance recital. It's on Saturday. Will you come watch me?"

"I wouldn't miss it for the world Bells. Now where is your sister?"

Just as she said that, the blue-eyed girl walked down the stairs wearing a light pink dress that ended just above her knew. Her hair was lightly curled and slightly pinned in the back. 

"You look, just wow. You look beautiful Britt."

"You too babe."

Santana said goodbye to Bella and reached her hand for Brittany's, "Shall we, my lady?"

"We shall," Brittany responded with a small chuckle. 

The girls had been in the car for around 40 minutes and Brittany was getting anxious. She hated long car rides especially when she didn't know where she was going.

"Santana, are we almost there?"

"Yes Britt, just like ten more minutes. I promise it will be worth it."

"Fine. If I didn't love you so much, I would be mad, but it's impossible to see your pretty face and be mad."

"Good. We just need to listen to like three more songs, and we will be there."

A little less than ten minutes passed when Santana pulled up to a field of grass. There was only one other car on the field. There was a path lit by lights which lead to a hot air balloon. A man was waiting right beside the balloon for the girls.

Brittany was in awe. She had never seen anything so beautiful, well besides Santana of course. The field looked like a scene out of a movie or a scenery from a famous painting at a museum. Santana couldn't help but smile at seeing Brittany's eyes light up with excitement. She got out of the car and opened the door for Brittany.

"So, what do you think?"

"This is amazing Santana. I mean truly, it's breathtaking."

"Well I'm glad you like it. I wasn't sure if you might be scared of going on the hot air balloon but I thought as long as I'm with you, you would be okay. Plus, Josh will be on making sure we are safe. Now, let's go."

Hand in hand, the two girls walked down the lit path until they got to the balloon.

"Good evening ladies. You two look lovely tonight."

"Thank you Josh."

"We better get going. You want to make sure we are up in time to see the sunset, nothing is more romantic than that."
