You brought the cup to your lips in the awkward air as you waited patiently for your turn in the ice breaker. The scent of coffee touched your nose as you tried to listen in on the current girl introducing herself, but you found your brain growing distracted as you instead kept replaying what you were preparing to say when it would be your turn.
"Hi! My name is Lindsey, and I'm a sophomore here at Baywood university," a preppy girl introduced, "I'm studying nursing, and my favorite thing about college is the opportunity to make friends and meet people. My least favorite thing is the stress around exam time."
The small group of girls sitting around the large table in the coffee shop all smiled and said hi while you tried to do the same in your anticipation.
It was your first time attending a new club. You had seen advertisements for it around campus, and you were excited to finally be present at the first meeting. It was a group for girls only dedicated to mental health and forming friendships.
It wasn't that you didn't feel satisfied in your friendships with the boys, but being around males constantly made you crave a break and a new atmosphere.
Plus, who doesn't need mental health guidance in college?
You beamed when everyone turned their attention towards you. You were the last one to introduce yourself, and you breathed out a bit before parting your lips to speak.
"Hi, I'm (Y/N)," You began. You were nervous for some reason as you looked about at the group of girls. You really weren't used to seeing so much of your gender and you swallowed hard in a moment of hesitation.
Oh God, had you been forced around guys so much that you didn't even know how to act?!
You awkwardly rubbed your arm and smiled more shyly under the gazes of the girls who were now looking rather impatient as you had stopped speaking. You blinked when you realized your silence was probably odd.
"O-Oh, and, I'm studying robotics in the engineering program."
You watched as everyone's eyes in the room grew wide and the air fell oddly quiet.
Not knowing what else to do, you continued.
"My favorite thing about college is-"
"Woah woah woah, wait," one of the girls, Mary, who had introduced herself earlier piped up while raising an eyebrow and propping an elbow on the table. "Did you say you're in engineering?"
"Uh, yeah?" You hesitantly spoke and tilted your head a bit in weary anxiety. Did you say something wrong? Your heart sank. All you wanted was some female friends, but apparently you had already screwed up.
Mary looked at one of the other girls then back at you.
"Like... with a bunch of hot guys?" She slowly spoke, interest and excitement suddenly flooding her tone. "All to yourself?"
You blinked, not expecting the question at all as you found all the girls were eagerly leaning forward to hear your response. You flushed as attention was put on you and fiddled as you thought over the question.
Hot guys? In the engineering program?
It was very true that almost all of the students you were around were male, and although you usually only looked at Jungkook, a majority of them were sort of good looking you supposed. Your friends especially, if you looked past the fact that they were your friends.
Wait, Jungkook was in engineering.
You hesitantly blinked before realizing the girls were right. You were constantly surrounded by good looking guys, and excitement began rippling through your veins when they seemed to be interested in what it was like to be in such a position.
