"Yeah, so I've been thinking about maybe making some sort of efficient heating system for roads during the winter so ice doesn't trap everyone indoors and people can safely drive," you noted as you continued to invest yourself in the ice cream you held in your hand.
Hoseok walked next to you and tried to keep up with the conversation as he as well worked on consuming the treat in his hold.
"Hmm," he hummed in thought; shrugging his backpack more securely onto his shoulders as the two of you walked up the hill's sidewalk. "And what does Namjoon think?"
You scrunched up your nose in dissatisfaction at the mention of your partners name and shook your head a bit.
"Don't know. I haven't talked to him at all about it yet."
Hoseok furrowed his eyebrows in confusion as you went on as if this fact was perfectly fine.
"But... don't you live next to each other?"
"Eh," you waved off the statement. "I didn't talk to him last night. We're meeting up super soon, so I'll let him know then. I usually try to minimize the amount of time I talk to him after all."
You happily took the last bite of your ice cream while Hoseok pouted.
"I agree with Jimin," he spoke pointedly while letting you try some of his. "I wish the two of you could be friends."
"What?" You laughed a little and threw your empty ice cream cup in a nearby trashcan. "We are friends!" You paused a bit. "Well, sort of. Sometimes."
"50/50 I guess?"
"Yeah," you agreed exuberantly while Hoseok continued to seem dissatisfied with the numbers. He released a sigh and paused when his phone began ringing. After handing his ice cream to you, he fished his phone out of his jacket pocket and answered the call.
"Hi Kookie!" He spoke exuberantly while your eyes widened towards the mere mention of your crush. Immediately you jumped to get closer to Hoseok and dragged his arm down so you could better hear the younger's voice.
"Hi," he spoke simply, and Hoseok fought to hold the phone properly with you so close and eager. Eventually he gave up and had to hit the speaker button just to hear. You held your breath in awe towards the male's lovely voice and stayed quiet in your listening while Hoseok shook his head in disappointment.
"What's up?" Your sunny friend finally made out brightly, trying to wave you away but you refusing to budge.
"Oh, not much. I just had some questions about tomorrow night."
Panic immediately touched Hoseok's face and you tilted your head in confusion as your friend jolted the phone upwards and immediately began franticly tapping in order to turn the speaker off.
"You know, about karaoke with everyone?"
Hoseok swallowed hard and your eyes widened as he looked towards you in worry.
"U-Uh, Kookie? I'm going to have to call you back," he made out with a stressed chuckle while staring your way. He hit the disconnect button and it resounded with a beep as you blinked and excitement began to fill your chest.
There was silence for a moment before the words Jungkook had spoken fully resonated with you.
"K-Karaoke?!" You made out in confused joy. You bounced a bit while Hoseok continued to look horrified. "Are we really all going out to do Karaoke tomorrow?! Why didn't you tell me!"
You twirled in happiness and threw away Hoseok's nearly empty desert before he could protest as you clutched onto your backpack straps and began imagining what a perfect night it would be.
