Hiccup-
"Oh Ya did it Hiccup! Ye get to kill the Dragon!" Gobber Shouted while the crowed cheered. I swiftly glanced at Astrid, noticing her Death Glare. Within seconds, the Gang picked up up above their heads and began to carry me out.
"Great... I can't wait!" I said spoke, being sarcastically enthusiastic. After twenty minutes, every Viking were in the Great Hall celebrating that the Heir of Berk would finally become one of them. Unfortunately they were so wrong... It wasn't long before I had everything cleared out of my room and slung over my shoulder in a basket. As I slowly made my way through the woods, I heard several whacks. I knew who it was, I wasn't surprised. Astrid must have been taking her anger out on trees instead of a Viking, even though they all deserved It. I sighed softly and continued to make my way to the cove.
Astrid-
"I Can't believe that HALF TROLL MOSS EATING MUNGE BUCKET!" I cursed as I threw my ax at the tree. That's when I heard it. There was a snap behind me. I swiftly spun around and caught a glimpse of something big moving through the forest. I ripped my axe out of the Tree and began to follow whatever this thing was. As I snuck my way through the brush, I caught glimpse of what, or who it was. The scrawny boy sat down the large brown basket next to this beautiful pond inside this cove that I didn't even know about. I looked on in Awe as The boy turned around and revealed his emerald green eyes.
"Astrid... I know your there... You don't have to hide from 'Hiccup the Useless'." He spoke up, sadness was clearly evident in his voice.
"H-how did you know?" I asked, surprised and confused that he knew I was following him. He smiled softly and slowly walked to me.
"Astrid, I heard the Sounds of you Murdering dozens of trees... Not long after I Started to pass you, it stopped." Hiccup explained. How could I have been that stupid. I should have been quieter.
"What are you doing here with that basket of belongings?" I asked as he began to look at his feet which apparently interesting to look at right then to him.
"I don't belong here Astrid... My Father was right... I'm not a Dragon Killer, He'd always look at me with this scowl like someone skimmed the meat in his sandwhich..." He explained. My eyes widened, I knew what he was doing.
"Excuse me Bar Maid, I asked for an Extra Large boy with beefy arms and extra Guts and Glory on the side! This... This here is a Talking Fishbone!" He mimicked Stoick. I gently placed my hand on his shoulder and he flinched.
"Hiccup... Don't do this... The Village would be Devastated if you run away... Your Father would be... He lost your mother during a Dragon raid. Imagine how He would feel if you ran off..." I pleaded with the boy, I could see it in his eyes. He was Serious.
"Astrid, you don't understand..." Hiccup mumbled with a sigh following me.
"Then Tell me... I-I'm Sorry I wasn't there... We used to be really close when we were little, until my parents forced me to stop talking to you..." I pleaded as I hung my head in shame.
"Astrid, I wasn't mad at you or Fishlegs. You never hurt me, you don't have anything to Apologize for. Unfortunately, what I had done will get me killed for High Treason..." He sighed, as I looked at him, my eyes were wide. "T-That's how you became so great in Training out of Nowhere... P-please show me how you learned everything." I pleaded, finally realizing that his crime was befriending Berk's very enemy. He slowly nodded and lifted his basket over his shoulder.
"Astrid, I know you won't like this... But when you meet Toothless, you need to be unarmed or he will think you are a threat." Hiccup spoke with a seriousness. This was New, I've never seen him this serious since He claimed to have shot down a NightFury.
"I accept..." I smiled softly. 'What in the name of Thor is wrong with me? I hated his Guts a while ago, but now I'm smiling? Why Gods why?!' I thought.
"Toothless! Come here Bud!" Hiccup called. A few minutes later, a sleek black dragon with Green eyes bounced over to us. That's when He saw me and froze in his tracks, growling lowly.
Hiccup-
"Woah it's ok Toothless... She's not a threat..." I spoke with a soft smile as Astrid lowered her axe and dagger, kicking them to the side. I smiled and petted toothless as he looked at Astrid Curiously.
"Hiccup? I hope you don't mind me asking, but what happened to his tail?" Astrid asked, curiosity quite evident. I sighed softly as Toothless Nudged me gently.
"Astrid, do you remember the raid where I said that I shot down a Nightfury... That Nightfury is Toothless... After a few hours of looking around raven point, I came across a fair amount of damage. That is what most likely took off his tail fin." I looked back to her as she slowly stood up and made her way to me.
"There's no talking you out of running away, is there." Astrid Asked, looking slightly annoyed.
I chuckled softly as toothless sniffed Astrid's hand. I smiled, I was happy that Toothless was curious about her.
"Astrid, please slowly extend your arm out, close your eyes and look away. This will help you Gain Toothless's trust. I can tell that he isn't sure about trusting you. If you show him that you trust that He will not to hurt you, then he will become your best friend." I explained and Astrid followed along exactly. After a few seconds, Toothless gently placed his snout in her palm, showing that he trusts her. As Astrid looked at Toothless, a stray tear fell down her cheek.
"Astrid, what's wrong?" I asked softly as she wiped the stray tear away.
"This is Amazing Hiccup... I didn't know Vikings were blind by arrogance and hate to see the Truth... Thank you, for showing me..." Astrid smiled softly as she swiftly hit me in the arm.
"W-what was that For??" I asked, gently rubbing my arm with a playful tone. Toothless eyed her curiously after she had hit me.
"That was for planning on Running Away without attempting to show me what you had discovered." Astrid spoke right before she kissed me quickly. "And that is for everything else." Astrid Finished as she stood up.
"Astrid, I-if they find out that you know how I became Great, they'll brand you a traitor and banish or Execute you... I offer you an invitation to join me M'lady" I called out. She looked back and frowned.
"Hiccup with what you had shown me, I'm already in the same boat as you... But this is something I can do to make up for all the mistakes I have done to you in the past." She explained, her frown turning into a soft smile.
"Then why are you heading back?" I asked bluntly. She chuckled a little and walked back to me.
"Hiccup, I'm going to Grab essential items like Clothes and food with a few personal belongings." She admitted happily. 'This was weird, why would she want to leave her Family? I thought Honor was important to her...' I thought quietly to myself. After a few hours, she returned with a sword, and her items.
"Hey Astrid!" I smiled softly as she laid her items down.
"Hiccup, Someone had broken the dragons out of the Arena... Stoick is interrogating people now. I have a feeling it was you, wasn't it?" Astrid inquired. I nodded yes slowly, only to receive a punch to the Arm.
"Why did you do that?! You could have been caught!" Astrid Scolded, completely unaware of the Sky blue and Yellow Nadder behind her.
"Astrid, I couldn't leave them there to die... Plus I thought of a dragon that you might like... Look behind you." I smirked softly as she turned around to see the Nadder looking at her curiously.
"A Nadder? Why?" She inquired again. I smiled softly, somehow I still had this crush on her.
"Because She's Strong, intelligent, and beautiful. A Nadder has a sense of pride, but is very loyal. Like someone I know" I beamed as I gently petted the Nadder as she Purred. I could see it, Astrid was blushing. It was a sight to behold indeed. Astrid slowly approached the Nadder, and gently stuck her arm out while she looked away. The Nadder's spines were still up so I had gently began to stroke her tail, calming the dragon down. After a few second, the Nadder and Astrid had bonded. Astrid has a smile that was plastered on her face, truth be told I always thought I would never see what I have seen today. I swiftly strapped my basket to Toothless's saddle and hopped on while Astrid grabbed her basket and climbed onto Stormfly. Suddenly a snap was heard from behind and our Dragons became hostile to whatever caused that Snap. Without warning, Toothless fired a low powered blast at a bush. The blast swiftly vaporized a hole into the Foliage, only to reveal an unconscious Snotlout who was covered in Soot from the blast.
"Hiccup... We need to go, Now!" Astrid Shouted as she took off into the air. I grabbed my dagger and dropped it to the part of the cove covered in claw marks before we zoomed through the sky.
