6.Council!

Adhiyan's PoV

The council hall is not a big building! It's a big space covered in palm leaves! Kind of a hut, a huge one actually! Everyone was already there! Kolli hills is the only place in India where we live in packs. But there are many lycans that live all over India, hiding their identity. They still have their roots here. They all work in many different fields! Many work in army and police department! They come home whenever they get vacation! We have our personnels infiltrated in every field across India. You name it, we are there!

Some doesn't want to be in packs. We call them rogues! Many a times, rogues are rebels who doesn't like the leaders in command. Many go rogue against their pack for power which they couldn't achieve as of now. Some try and sabotage our cover. There is onething about going rogue! If you know the actual wolves, a wolf with no pack is suicidal. A lone wolf cannot hunt, so eventually it dies in hunger and lack of protection. Similarly, when a Lycan goes rogue, he/she gets time until the next red moon before their wolves die. Once their wolves die, the human part dies within months.

We gather up here every month on a full moon day to recognise the newly born wolves and to discuss about the threats posed by rogues. There are some hidden enemies for us that uses our rogues against us! So we think, it's them who promises power to our kind and turns them against us.

We have 3 council heads. We call them 'Elders'! They take all important decisions. They discipline us and decide on punishments for our mistakes. Sivagami was one of the elders! Once she left Kolli malai, Aadhirai took her place. Elders hail from different packs. They rise to the power of an Elder with age, wisdom and maturity.

"You guys are late!" she said.

"Sorry!" we bowed before them.

"Netra is coming back! I saw Sivagami's astral projection. She said Netra have no wolf. She has no idea we exist or who she is! There is threat for her life and some rogue is spotted near her home. We don't know if Netra has powers! She is to be handled with care." Aadhirai spoke.

"The council has decided to keep our secret, a secret to Netra! We don't reveal ourselves unless required." Kandhan, another elder said.

"We abide to the council decision!" everyone of us bowed to the elders.

"Ok! Now for the newbies! How many kids got their wolf?" Nilavan, the other elder asked.

Every village representative said their count. Totally 17 new wolves. It is by far the largest number in this whole year!

"That is a good number." the elders looked at the kids that were lined up. 10boys and 7girls.

"How was your transition?" they asked them.

"We did good!" everyone said in chorus.

"You are all blessed by our moon goddess! Not everyone carry your gene in our community! So consider yourselves special and responsible. How many of you found your powers?"

3kids raise from floor. 2girls and a boy!

"What is your power little man?"

"I can hear other animals!" he said.

"Wow! That is a peculiar power! You must learn to harness the power!" the elder told him. He turned to Aadhirai.

"Who else got this power before?" he questioned!

"Senthalir!" she said.

"Aahhh yes! What is your power dear?" he asked a girl.

"I can move objects with my mind."
