9.The Village head!

(Somewhere in Kolli hills...)

"Did she doubt on you any moment?" he asked Anand who is sitting in front of him.

"No! She didn't! She don't know anything. She is just a normal human girl!" Anand said with his hard face.

"You can't be sure of that. She is the daughter of your kind right? She falls in the desirable blood-line!" he said with a sadistic smile.

Anand tightened his fist to contain his anger. They are in a pack house. There are 2more people other than them in the room.

"Don't get angry Anand! Think of all the benefits we promise you. You have seen what we can do. You made a wise choice. I want Adhiyan! His dad! Everyone that bears the blood. We are tired of all the rogues we got. They are weak and pathetic. They all die eventually. They are useless!" he said to Anand.

"But you took our people without their consent! Almost like capturing them!" Anand growled.

"Yes! When we found about your kind's existence, we tried to take you by force for hundreds of years now! The Alpha king dodged our force everytime! They made huge damages to us. It took years for us to build up again. We knew your powers. So we decided to play low-key! We traced down rogues! They were useless! Then we tried to abduct few wolves by diverting the Alphas with the rogues. All in vain! The Alpha King has this place in one piece for over hundred years now." he bumped his fist hard on the table.

"You promise me one more time, you will not touch anyone else than Adhiyan's family!"

"We don't want anyone else! We need them! Only them! For all the losses their family incurred us! For all the lives we lost by them! And for all the betterment their blood is going to give us! We need only them and you have our word!" he promised Anand.

"I want to see them!" Anand stood up.

"Ofcourse you can! But from outside that door!" that man said.

Anand growled when his men got ahold of him.

"This is not the time!" they said to Anand.

Netra's PoV

That man never said who he was! He left after an woman came in! I didn't even know his name. How awkward. I dared not to ask the woman who he was, for I am afraid that I may sound desperate.

I honestly don't know why I feel this way! Never a man attracted me like he did! I know nothing of him but I feel like my heart is slipping away with him.

The lady introduced herself as Sevvanthi! Beautiful name! She must be in her late 20's. She said she has a son and a daughter in their college! Wow! She doesn't look like a mom! Seriously!

She showed me around the places! She gave me delicious food! It is a beautiful serene place. The nature is not just disturbed but is protected! It was like a mini township! But with mud roads! The houses are all built with enough spacing between! Every house is surrounded by trees and plants that play as a compound wall!

The city hub is in the middle. It has grocery shops, hospital, school, gym, Medicals, park for kids and a small hotel! Perfect!

I saw a man getting something from the grocery store and gave something in return. He didn't give money!

"Akka(sister)!What did he give the shop keeper?" I asked Sevvanthi.

"He must have given something in exchange for the goods he got from the shop!" she said.

Commodity exchange is still happening? Wow! I thought this method was history!

"You don't want money?" I asked in surprise.

"We need things to survive! Not money!" she said just like that. She is right!

"We get yeilds in our fields! We get stuffs from the hill! We get them down to people in exchange for food supplies that we dont get it here!" she said.

"People down accept your goods? They dont demand money?"

"We don't go to sellers who demand money!"

Life is so easy if we live along with nature! Money is complex!

"Akka! I want to see Adhiyan ayya(sir)! I wish I could start working from tomorrow!" I told her for which she looked at me like an alien!

"I shall take you to his house!" she said.

I stopped in my tracks when I saw a shop! Antiques restoration! Wow! This village never cease to amaze me. I went in the shop to see.

"Welcome madam! Good evening!" a beautiful girl received us.

"Good evening! All of them came to you for restoration? Amazing!" I lauded looking around. This place is full!

"We get antiques from all around country for restoration madam! We do a real good job!" she said.

"Cool! I love antiques! I know how old watches work! Can I take a look?"

"um...sure madam! But please be more careful!" she said.

I am kind of addicted to playing with the mechanism of old things in my home! That way, I know how a clock works from inside. It really is amazing how they put up very small components together when there were no machines like today to do the job! Paati have told me that in olden days, people will do that with bare hands! Can you imagine how well their craftsmanship would be?

"Checking out the place here, are we?" I jumped at the sudden voice that made tingles all over my body! I turned super fast that my elbow knocked a beautiful pendulum clock.

"No!" I screamed but before I know it, he ran to it and caught it on time before hitting the ground. It is safe.

"Th... Thanks!" I could not meet his eye!

"This place is very important! You must be vigilant at all times!" he said like a warning.

"I was! It was because of you I got nervous!" I revolted. He made me jump at his sudden appearence! He can't blame me.

"What did I do to make you nervous?"

"You...huh!" I stopped mid way, when I noticed how close he is standing to me. If he move a little bit he would touch me.

"Ho.. How did you come to me that fast?" I asked moving back to divert the tension in the air.

But a part of me is disappointed with myself for moving away from him. What do I know about him? Nothing!

"I just wanted to save the clock!" he said with a hard face. His charming smile gone! I so wanted to ask him his name. But looks like he is not in good mood now. What did I say wrong?

"Netra, he will take you to Village head's home!" Sevvanthi akka told me and went. God not with him!

"Um... Sorry if I made you angry!?" I told him.

I saw him relax his shoulders! Ufff! I looked up at him. He caught my eyes and pierced it until it hit my soul. I could not break the eye contact! Gosh! He is doing something to me! Like, like hypnotism!

"Don't be! It's not your fault. Why do you want to meet Adhiyan?" he asked me walking out of the shop with a smile!

No! Don't smile at me that way! I may die! I cannot be falling for a man whom I know nothing about. It sounds absurd!

"um... I'm sure Adhiyan ayya must be very elder to you! I think you should address him with respect." I told him to divert my stupid heart from him. He is very dangerous to be with!

"Haha! Is it? Why do you think Adhiyan is very elder?" he asked me with a playful smirk! I love it.

"Because he is the village head! He must be an elder!"

"Clever! Alright! Adhiyan ayya! Why do you want to meet him now?"

"I would like to join my work from tomorrow! So.." I trailed off.

"Ok! Then do you want to see the school?" he stopped mid track opposite to the school.

It was evening and is already dark! There was no one in the school! Is it safe for me to go in with this man?

"What is your name?" I asked him finally.
