Jordyn sat beside Virgil, and Gini sat beside Joe, and despite being tired, the four of them held an entertaining conversation the entire hour it took to drive from Manchester to Liverpool.
"I think what happened tonight was an accurate demonstration of what happens when you park a van on top of a bus," stated Gini solemnly.
It took the rest of them a moment or two to understand the joke, but Virgil was the first to laugh at it, smacking his friend on the arm playfully.
"That was good, I'll allow it," he said. "Think I'm gonna score more often, to be honest."
"Oh yeah? Why's that?" Asked Jord.
"Everyone hugs you when you score," he replied. "Nice and warm. It was so cold out there, my hands were freezing."
"The thought has crossed my mind before, you know," Jordyn laughed.
"How funny was Ali though," Joe shook his head, with a chuckle. "He ran all the way down to celebrate, and just as he got there the celebrations were over."
"Poor guy," Said Gini. "He just wanted a hug. We get drinks break in summer, we should get hugs break in winter too."
"I'd be down," Virgil shrugged.
"Your problem is you're too long, Virg," said Joe. "Your hands are too far from your heart. Of course they get cold."
"I don't see being big as being a problem," Virg raised an eyebrow at him in amusement. "Are you telling me your hands don't get cold?"
"I'm happy he's built like a tank, to be honest," said Gini.
"Me too," nodded Jord. "Just not in training matches."
Virg smirked at her, and poked her in the shoulder playfully.
"You don't get better unless you play against someone that's better than you," he stated.
"Wow, alright then," She shook her head in amusement. "Someone's ego clearly needs deflating here."
"I'm kidding, I'm kidding," he laughed.
"Anyway, that's not strictly true, Virg," said Gini. "You can still learn things from playing against people you're better than."
"Not as quickly though," said Virg. "Anyway, I wanna ask you Jord, since you're here. This is kind of changing the subject, but I've been asking everyone this question since I got here. What's your story? Where did you come from to get to where you are now?"
"I don't have a very exciting story," Jord told him, with a smile. "I grew up with Trent, I think everybody knows that. My dad is Brazilian, but he was a Liverpool fan, he came here to watch a game and met my mum. I'm an only child, but Trent and his brothers are pretty much my siblings, so it makes up for it."
