The hum of keyboards filled the office space as I sat at my desk, stealing a moment to glance over at Freya, who was completely engrossed in her tablet. It was one fine afternoon. Well, busy kaninang umaga pero nang matapos na namin lahat ng paperworks ay nakapagpahinga na din kami. I went to the pantry para kumuha ng kape at pagbalik ko ay ito ang naabutan ko.
With a furrowed brow and lips pressed together in concentration, Freya seemed utterly captivated sa kung ano man ang pinapanuod niya. Curiosity gnawed at me, urging me to interrupt her sa pagkakatitig niya sa screen.
"Huy." Kinalabit ko siya pag lapit ng upuan ko sakanya. Hindi siya natinag. Nakangiti lang siya sa tablet niya and it really got my interest piqued.
"Huy, Freya." Pag ulit ko. I'm pretty sure I kind of set the tone kaya napalingon siya sa akin. "Ano ba yang pinapanuod mo at parang hindi ka maistorbo?"
A spark of excitement light up her eyes when she uttered these words. "Girl, you won't believe this," she exclaimed, her voice brimming with enthusiasm. "Napanuod mo na ba yung Love & War?"
Napakunot ang noo ko. She's suddenly asking me about a local TV series. "Love & War?" I echoed, leaning in closer. "Yung series sa Netflix?"
Tumango siya sa sinabi ko, her face glowing with excitement. "Yes, and let me tell you, I get it kung bakit sobrang sikat ng series na 'to. The buzz is real!" she divulged, her voice tinged with excitement. "And hulaan mo kung sino ung pinaka-pinag uusapan ngayon dahil sa series na 'to."
Tumaas ang isa kong kilay. I can feel her energy and excitement to spill kung sino iyong tinutukoy niya.
"Danthony Arc Jennings." Her voice high-pitched. Halata mong kinikilig.

My heart skipped a beat at the mention of his name. Danthony Arc Jennings—the breakout star who had taken the entertainment industry by storm. He's actually a rookie actor. Well atleast for me. Hindi siya gaanong sikat sa mga dati niyang entertainment breaks pero ngayon, kahit saan sa social media ko ay nakikita ko siya.
I breathed, barely able to contain my intrigue. Wondering kung ano nga ba ang meron sa taong ito at kung bakit sobrang sikat niya ngayon.
"Danthony? Parang nakikita ko nga siya sa mga social media platforms recently."
Freya nodded emphatically, her smile widening. "Yes! Oh 'di ba nga nakakagulat na bigla nalang sumikat 'to? And ung chemistry between him and Marga Ramirez? It's off the charts," she continued, her excitement palpable. "They play second leads, pero their storyline is stealing the spotlight."
I frowned slightly, trying to process this new information. And wow, he was paired with Marga? A veteran actress who is already on her 10th year in the industry? Now I suddenly wondered why would they pair a rookie to a veteran. Ganoon siya kagaling?
"But I thought si Dominic Almazan and Bella Marivelles ang main characters niyan? I mean, hindi ako nanunuod niyan pero alam ko since isa sila sa pinakasikat na love teams." I asked, recalling the chatter surrounding Love & War. Sobrang sikat nga ng series na ito ngayon. Kalat na kalat sila sa lahat ng social media platforms ko.
Freya nodded in agreement, acknowledging my observation. "Yeah, they're the big names, but Danthony and Marga? They're stealing the show," she admitted, her eyes sparkling with excitement. "Grabe girl, ang tindi ng tandem na 'to. Ang sabi pa, new love team na raw sila."
Boy, she looks so amazed right now.
Despite my usual aversion to local shows, Freya's fervor was contagious. "And how's the show overall?" I inquired, unable to contain my curiosity. "Okay naman ba? Baka typical Pinoy series yan na puro kabit-kabit ha?"
