The Midnight Hunt

It was a sunny day. No cloud in sight. Just the sun and the wind on a lovely day. "Anna Anna!! Come on we got to get going!" A woman says. She looked in her 30s but she was only 43. Her dress dragging down to her feet. Hair up in a bun. The color of her hair was golden brown with a hint of ginger. A little girl comes running up to the woman. "Mummy! But it's only 7." Anna says. Anna was a good little girl. She had a kind heart and everyone loved her. She loves to go hunting with her father when she can go. "That's right but you guys only have until midnight. So it's best to go now." The mother says as she opens the door and goes back inside.

The little girl goes in as well. "Get ready cupcake we are going soon. We only have until midnight." The Father says as get brushing his beard and hair. "Okay, but I call fist shot!" Anna giggles and goes to her room to get dressed. "Do you think it's a good idea to take her this time? I mean she can get hurt." The mother says looking at the father. "I know, but we don't want to ruin what she loves. I know that thing is out there but we still have to do this so I can feed you guys and myself. And We have guns. If I see it ill shoot it." The father says as he brushes his bread one last time. He turns to look at the mother.

"I-I-I know but what if it doesn't kill it? What if it comes to you guys? We don't know what that thing is!" The mother starts to get angry and worried. Her eyes fill with tears. "I don't want to lose my babe girl." She turns around to wipe her tears from her face. "I know honey but It comes out later after we are done. " The Father goes to the mother and hugs her. She pushes him back turning back around looking at the Father. "What if it changes?! What if it comes out while you guys are still out there?!" The mother rages with fear. She tries not to cry but she was too weak.

Tears fall from her face. "Honey, I swear I'll protect our little girl," The father says. Anna comes back from changing. She has a smile on her face. She looks at her dad. "Dad, I'm ready! Let's go!! " Anna says excitedly. The father goes and gets the guns. "Okay, we will be back hopefully before midnight." The father says going to the door. Anna follows. "Please be safe," The mother goes to Anna and hugs her. Anna hugs her mother back. They let go after some time. "Love you guys." The mother says as they leave.

30 Minutes later the father and Anna got to their spot and prepared for Hunt. Many hours later Sunset was upon them. The father looks at the woods across their spot and saw something. He didn't get a good look before it looked over and ran off. The father looked confused. "Dad, When will we see Deer," Anna whispers. "I'm not sure. But I know we will get something," The father whispers as he looks out of the little window of their blind. More hours later Midnight was coming. The moon is out and the clouds were moving west.

The father sees something in the distance. The father knew it wasn't a deer. "Crap" The father Whispers. "We got to go Hunny." The father slowly gets up. Anna was passed out asleep. The father picks her up and he gets out of the blind. He starts to head home trying not to make noise. As he was close to home he hears a loud growling. The father stands still. He wakes up Anna and he covers her mouth. "Shh, anna we got to be quiet. When I sit you down. Go inside." He sits Anna down and Anna goes inside opening the door. The growling gets even closer and closer. Then the father screamed. The mother hurries to Anna. Checking to see if she was hurt. "Anna! Are you okay?" Anna Looks at the mother. "Yes, I'm okay. But papa is still out there." The mather goes and opens the door and sees the father's body on the ground.

"Dear Lord" The mother goes and Calls someone. "Nancy come here please and make it fast." She hangs up the phone and she goes to Anna. "I need you to hide okay. Nancy will come and get you." Anna does as her mother is told. The mother goes outside with a gun. She sees the beast and shoots it but that didn't help. The beast runs full speed to the mother. Killing her. Anna fell back asleep in the closet.

The next day anna wakes up and she hears a voice. "Anna!?" Nancy calls out. Anna COmes out and runs to Nancy. Anna sees her Mother and Father. "Let's go Anna. We got to get out of here..." Anna and Nancy get to the car and they get in. Nancy Starts the car and they drive off.
