Chapter 4

As the sun rose from behind its cover it shined brightly as Dandelion'paw and Dock'paw padded out of the apprentice den yawning, the scanned the camp to see if they saw their mentors but they didn't so they padded over the the fresh-kill pile about to eat when Moth'star padded over her eyes glinting with a little bit of anger "Dock'paw, Dandelion'paw" She mewed, dandelion'paw turned first her amber gaze landing on her mother as she tilted her head "yeah what is it?" she asked, dock'paw soon after turned around his fluffy brown dappled pelt shining the morning lights gaze, "You have to wait till the elders kits and queens eat first" she mewed, Dock'paw was token aback "wait what!" Dock'paw spat, moth'star glared at her son as he backed up behind dandelion'paw, "Sorry mother we wont-" "it's moth'star" she said her eyes sharp, dandelion'paws eyes widened as she hid her brother with her tail, "fine then, moth'star were sorry" she hissed her fur puffing up as she nudged her brother and began walking her eyes sharp on her mother, or what she thought was her mother but now all she saw was a leader with a clouded heart, she padded away as she looked at dock'paw "its gonna be okay" she mewed softly, Dock'paw nodded his eyes were a bit dim as he shuffled his tail drooping, "its probably just stress" Dock'paw mewed smiling, Dandelion'paw looked away her fur puffing "but the things she said like to not call her mother was just... not her" she mewed her eyes sharp as she looked back at dock'paw, that's when Sorrel'tail padded out of the warrior den her dappled, tortoiseshell-and-white fur glowing in the sun as she noticed dock'paw she smiled and padded over "Dock'paw you ready to go explore the territory?" She asked, Dock'paw nodded smiling as the two cats left the camp, Dandelion'paw smiled gently as she padded back into the apprentice den nudging Honey'paw awake "come on your mentor might be up soon" Dandelion'paw mewed as Honey'paw yawned getting up and stretching before leaving the den to see her mentor leave the warriors den her brown tabby fur very vibrant against the pale snow, Honey'paw smiled as she padded over to her mentor with a wide smile, that's when dandelion'paw caught a glimpse of moth'star staring at Honey'paw with guilt in her eyes, Dandelion'paw felt her feelings build up as she wanted to run over and claw at her leader but she knew the rules even it was only just a little bit she knew them. She rolled her eyes as she padded past honey'paw and Pine'fur leaving the camp to go check out the territory "have fun" Honey'paw smiled as she nodded at dandelion'paw before exiting the camp with her mentor, Dandelion'paw let out a long sigh as she poked her head in the warriors den to see her mentor beech'fur still sleeping. She let out a tiny sigh as she noticed a kind of cough as she looked inside the warriors den she saw Cloud'tail his tail covering his mouth as he coughed "cloud'tail are you okay?" She asked gently, Cloud'tail looked at dandelion'paw with a gentle smile "yeah I'm okay no worries okay?" Cloud'tail purred, Dandelion'paw could tell he was lying but nodded gently as she turned and left as the snow crunched under her paws as she stretched and padded over to the nursery to see the kits and queens, "hey Ice'wing" Dandelion'paw mewed softly, as the white she-cat lifted her head gently to look at the apprentice "How are the kits?" she asked, Ice'wing frowned as she moved her tail a bit to show Prickle'kit who was coughing badly he was extremely warm as well, "I'm worried he wont make it" she mewed, Dandelion'paw looked at the kit gently as she licked his tiny head "we don't have a medicine cat yet sadly but I can see what I can grab" She mewed, Ice'wing smiled as she looked at the golden tabby "thank you dandelion'paw" Ice'wing mewed,  Dandelion'paw nodded as she went to pad out of the nursery when Beetle'kit pounced Grass'kit and they launched up a lot of snow that hit dandelion'paw, dandelion'paw turned around her eyes sharp as she looked at the kits, they smiled gently as they scurried to their mom, Dandelion'paw laughed as she left the nursery and padded over to the warriors den as she nudged Beech'fur "hey Beech'fur would you mind walking we around the territory so I can try and find herbs?" She asked, Beech'fur lifted his head a little as he looked at her "Bright'heart can you take my apprentice to look for herbs?" Beech'fur mewed softly as bright'heart nodded leaving cloud'tails side, "lets go Dandelion'paw" she mewed softly as dandelion'paw nodded following  bright'heart out of camp, "Herbs are a bit hard to find right now due to it being bare-leaf" dandelion'paw nodded as she padded along side bright'heart, "So Dandelion'paw do you plan to be a medicine cat?" bright'heart asked gently, Dandelion'paw jumped a bit as she looked at bright'heart the white and ginger she-cat with the torn up face, "M-maybe" she mewed as she looked forward, as she sniffed the air, "well scene were out here anyways let me show you the territory" Bright'heart mewed as she pawed at the snow to reveal tansy, "that's Tansy right?" asked Dandelion'paw, Bright'heart nodded a smile appearing on her muzzle, dandelion'paw wrapped her teeth around the roots and pull it out of the ground snow covering her muzzled as she shook her head clearing the snow off of her. After a while of Bright'heart showing Dandelion'paw the territory the went back to camp, dandelion'paw padded over to the nursery gently as she poked her head in to see that Ice'wing was licking her kits gently, "Ice'wing I got some tansy for Prickle'kit" mewed dandelion'paw gently as she tore a little piece off and place it gently in front of prickle'kit gently, Prickle'kit looked at the tansy as he ate it gently before going back to sleep, Dandelion'paw smiled gently as she looked at ice'wing "all we can do now is pray that star'clan helps the kit" mewed dandelion'paw, Ice'wing nodded as she closed her eyes for a rabbit hop before opening them smiling gently "thank you again Dandelion'paw you would make a great medicine cat" Dandelion'paw nodded as she smiled padding off her tail flicking goodbye as she noticed dock'paw and Honey'paw eating a rather tiny mouse "so how was the territory look?" asked dandelion'paw, dock'paw smiled brightly as he bounced up as he nudged the rest of the mouse to her, "thanks," "no problem, but it was great our mentors ended up meeting so we did the rest of the tour with each other" honey'paw nodded as she licked her muzzle clean, "well what are you guys doing next morning?" asked dandelion'paw as she sat down curling her tail around her paws, "my mentor said I would be trying to hunt" mewed honey'paw as she yawned, "I'. doing hunting as well" mewed dock'paw, dandelion'paw nodded as she smiled gently that's when she saw the patrol walk back in with two rouges, Dandelion'paw eyed the rouges as she noticed her siblings doing the same thing 'who are these rouges?'
