MEREDITH WENT ON A DATE with Beck, her Beck. Her heart broke even more at the sight of the two lovebirds in her favorite coffee shop, drinking hot chocolate and laughing at something she was sure she would not understand.

Her perfect jaw clenched. What was that supposed to mean? Were they in already love? She knew she said she didn't care if they went out but, for real, did she?

She shook her head. She was being ridiculous. They just went out on a insignificant date, nothing more. Still, when she returned home, she started crying.

It was normal to see other girls, he was moving on, she understood it. But it was so painful, and she hated it.

She pinched the bridge of her nose, her elbows on her knees, and started thinking. Maybe she was just overreacting, but that didn't change the fact that her charming ex-boyfriend was going out with Meredith Lake, the girl who was clearly flirting with him during that dumb play Andre Harris had written, back two years before.

She stood up, maybe because her legs felt numb, or maybe because a rush of sudden anger came off of her. Either way, she rose from the comfy bed and made her way to the desk opposite of the door, pulled out a black notebook from the drawer beside her and a pen. She opened the book and stared at it.

She put the point of her pen on the sheet of paper. Subconsciously, the words came out. Jade had always been the best songwriter in her class, well, before Tori Vega arrived. It appeared so  natural to her writing what she was feeling at the exact moment on a paper.

Hate, love, hurt, passion, anger, every feeling that she got, all wrapped in silly rhymes and smart metaphors, because she couldn't just tell people each feeling she kept inside, as if locked in a safe.

She was going to perform the song at the Full Moon Jam, she'd decided. Jade stared at the now full sheet of paper.

One, two, three. . . There were exactly seven teardrops on it. The tears that were shed by thinking about him, and Meredith, and Tori — because, well, Tori always ruins everything.

She put the paper in her bag. She would have Beck back, even if that meant she was probably going to be humiliated in front of the whole school.

She chose her best outfit and called Andre, while fixing her makeup.

"Hello?" he answered.

Jade could hear voices from the phone, which meant that he was already at school. She checked the time, it was 18:54. The festival was starting in two hours, so she had enough time to make herself as hot as she could.

"Andre, I need your help with something." she demanded.

"'Sup girl?"

"I want to sing. Tonight. Don't make any questions, see you later, Harris."

With that, Jade hung up the call.

Saying she was nervous would be an understatement. She paced back and forth as the other performers were getting ready. She was the first one to be singing, she would open the show.

"Okay. If he doesn't want you back, he's an idiot, more than he already is. He doesn't deserve you." she repeatedly murmured to herself.

When she heard her name being called, she took a deep breath and walked on the stage. She sang the words with all the strength and emotion she had, dancing and flipping her hair.

Jade just hoped that would show him what he was missing, show him that she could do whatever she wanted, even when he wasn't by her side.

"I've missed you." he said, when he walked on stage after her performance.

"So what are you gonna do about it?" she asked him with a knowingly grin.

Then, he kissed her. She knew that he didn't care about Meredith, or other girls in general. He only wanted her, and that made her love him even more than she already did.

this chapter is way longer
